CHARITY NICOLE KING, wanted for aggravated animal cruelty and animal abandonment, turned herself in

- Florida, USA -

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office announced that 37-years-old CHARITY NICOLE KING (pictured), turned herself in.

KING was wanted for aggravated animal cruelty and animal abandonment and the sheriff’s office had reached out to the public for assistance.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said that in late July 2023, one German Shepherd and two Great Danes “were discarded like trash and left to suffer in a remote, rural part of DeSoto County.”

A Good Samaritan luckily found the malnourished furvictims and alerted the sheriff’s office. Its Criminal Investigative Division, led by Detective Sergeant Bailey, launched an investigation.

“….we were able to step in and ensure the dogs are no longer subjected to neglect and malnourishment”, stated the release.

Online arrest records show that KING was booked into the DeSoto County Jail on the evening of Wednesday, August 30, 2023, on three felony counts of abandonment of animals and two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty. KING was released a few hours later after posting bond.

According to court records, KING’s arraignment is slated to take place on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. before DeSoto County Circuit Judge Don T. Hall.
