BROOKS ADAM ELLIS accused of setting a barn on fire – Deputies rescued two dogs

- Tennessee, USA -

The Washington County Sheriff's Office have charged 42-years-old BROOKS ADAM ELLIS (pictured), two counts of animal cruelty, aggravated assault, and arson.

In a news release the sheriff’s office said that on the afternoon of Thursday, November 24, 2022, deputies responded to a fully engulfed barn fire on 207 Rauhof Road in Telford.

From an investigation it emerged that that woman resident at that location had been involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, identified as ELLIS. Following the dispute, ELLIS set fire to the shared property and the woman was able to escape sustaining minor injuries.

Deputies successfully rescued two large dogs who were chained by the inflamed barn.

ELLIS was eventually taken into custody following a brief manhunt in the area. Deputies located him and handcuffed him on Indian Ridge in Johnson City.

Arrest records show that ELLIS is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond. On Monday, November 28, 2022, ELLIS will appear in Washington County General Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. for his preliminary hearing.

I have emailed Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton and requested additional information about the dogs. If I receive a response, I will post an update.
