Badge baiters wanted by police after a badger beaten to death was found dumped on a lane

- West Yorkshire, England -

On Wednesday, April 29, a badger protection group found a lifeless badger on a secluded lane in Marsden, a large village seven miles west of Huddersfield.

The poor mammal had bruises and dog bites leading them to believe that he had been killed by twisted badger baiters and their dogs.

Wildlife crime officer PC Caroline Newsome said: “The area where this badger was found – no signs of disturbance to ground or vegetation – suggests he was baited and killed elsewhere, prior to being dumped in woodland.”

She added: "Goodness knows what cruelty this poor animal has endured prior to its death."

Police are now looking for these despicable so-called humans with no regards for life or nature.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Newsome via 101.

Badger baiting was banned in 1835 although the vile practice is still carried out in secret by criminals who are often involved in other illegal activities. Interfering with a badger's sett is also a criminal offence.

Hopefully the dogs will be removed from these evil people!
