ASHONTI SHARDAI KIDD wanted for aggravated animal cruelty after a female Pitbull was found hours from death

The City of Jackson, TN - Police Department is seeking assistance in locating ASHONTI SHARDAI KIDD (pictured).

The Department’s press release advised that on July 23, 2025, an Animal Control Officer from the Jackson Animal Care Center was dispatched to a residence where an abandoned white female Pitbull “was found in a hot garage, starving and near death, with no access to food or water.”

According to a Facebook post published by Jackson Animal Care Center, the furvictim, whom they referred to as Brooksie, was “hours from death via starvation and dehydration”. She was rescued just in time thanks to the swift action of Brian Munyer, Maintenance Supervisor at the apartment complex, who alerted the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Animal Control team at Jackson Animal Care Center.

Jackson Animal Care Center said that the temperature inside the garage had climbed past 100 degrees.

Brooksie was found lying in her own waste, too weak to stand, cry, or bark, and the ACO safely carried her out of the sweltering garage.

Jackson Animal Care Center also said that Brooksie is “quiet, gentle, and painfully thin- but she wags her tail when her vet team walks in the room. She still trusts. Somehow.”

In an updated posted by the City of Jackson, TN - Police Department, police advised that Brooksie is in the care of a local veterinarian and that she is “moving around a little at a time and helping the staff do paperwork .”

Aggravated animal cruelty charges have been filed against KIDD, and a warrant is out for her arrest. So, if you are familiar with her whereabouts, please do the right thing and come forward. Speak up for Brooksie!
