ANDREW LAURENDI, dog daycare worker, accused of abusing dogs

- New York, USA -

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Nassau County Police Department arrested 21-years-old ANDREW LAURENDI (pictured).

According to a press release obtained by Voice For Us, LAURENDI was fired from his job as a dog day care worker at Pawllywood on 30 E. Chestnut Street in Massapequa after he was caught on video swinging a few dogs over his head while the furbabies were still on a leash.

Police said footage showed that after swinging the helpless dogs by the leash, LAURENDI then let the leash go and the dogs fell to the ground. LAURENDI then proceeded to smash the face of one of the dogs into a fence several times.

According to police, one of the dogs “suffered a serious physical injury.”

LAURENDI, of 553 Central Avenue Massapequa, was charged with Animal Cruelty and Torturing or Injuring an Animal/Failure to Provide Sustenance. He was issued an Appearance

Ticket returnable on Thursday, December 21, 2023 and will be arraigned in First

District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.

Police did not disclose additional information about the furvictims.

NBC New York reports that NASSAU SPCA went to LAURENDI’s home to check on his dogs but LAURENDI never opened the door.
