AMANDA LEIGH AULITO and KEVIN MICHAEL CONNOLLY facing a sleuth of charges, including animal cruelty

Updated: Jul 17, 2023

- Pennsylvania, USA -

On July 3, 2023, detectives with the Monroe County Drug Task Force went to a home on Colt Lane in Hamilton Township in an attempt to make contact with 33-years-old AMANDA LEIGH AULITO (pictured).

According to a press release by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office obtained by Voice For Us, “When detectives approached the residence they could smell a very foul odor coming from the home. Detectives heard several dogs barking inside and noticed that there was large amounts of debris outside the residence.”

When Monroe County Police officers knocked on the door, 39-years-old KEVIN MICHAEL CONNOLLY (pictured) answered and quickly closed the door to prevent officers from seeing the inside of the home.

As stated in the release, AULITO and CONNOLLY “consented to a search of their home.” Upon entering the residence, detectives “found the house to be in unlivable and in deplorable condition, further noting that there was no edible food for the children or dogs in the home.”

The couple’s 9-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son were found on the premises.

Detectives called in the ASPCA and Monroe County Children and Youth Services for assistance.

Detective Lippincott tells me that the ASPCA removed thirteen dogs, one cat, and one Snapping Turtle. To my questions whether any animals were found deceased or were euthanized, Detective Lippincott answered that no animals were found dead and that “they will all be forensically examined by a vet.”

I further asked Detective Lippincott about the dogs’ breed and age and she said that she does not know the breeds and that they were all small dogs.

AULITO and CONNOLLY were arrested and charged with animal cruelty, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, obstructing administration of law or other governmental function, hindering apprehension or prosecution, and conspiracy.

Later on, the same day they were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Brian Germano.

The pair are currently being held at the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Court records show that a preliminary hearing is set for July 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

Detective Lippincott tells me that “Additional charges are forthcoming.”
