ANASTASIA MISCHENKO arrested after she was witnessed beating and choking a dog

The Winters Police Department arrested 25-years-old ANASTASIA MISCHENKO.


Police said in a media release that on the early morning of November 27, 2023, a call came through reporting that a female, later identified as transient ANASTASIA MISCHENKO, was chocking and beating a dog in the parking lot near Starbucks in the 700 block of Matsumoto Lane.


When an officer responded to the scene, MISCHENKO “barricaded herself in a black SUV with numerous dogs, threatening the officer that she had a weapon”, said police.


The officer then reached out to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office for assistance.


According to police, MISCHENKO exited the vehicle after over thirty minutes of communicating and negotiating. Once out of the vehicle, she resisted when officers attempted to detain her. MISCHENKO was eventually handcuffed and transported to the Yolo County Jail on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges as well as resisting/obstructing an officer. Police said she will be evaluated by mental health staff at the jail.


Yolo County Animal Services were also called to the scene, and they removed a total of six dogs who were found in the vehicle.


Police advised that “Pursuant to California Penal Code 13665, a photo of the subject will not be provided by the Winters Police Department.”

Investigation underway after three puppies, one of them dead, were found abandoned in frigid woods

The South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter and New Jersey State Police are investigating a despicable act of animal cruelty and are reaching out to the public for assistance.


On Wednesday, November 30, 2023, a Good Samaritan, whom WPVI identified as Suzanne Stretch, was by Gershal Road and Eppinger Avenue feeding her colony cats when she heard some crying.


That crying led Suzanne to a basket with three helpless puppies trapped inside. Sadly, one of them was dead. As the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter said in their Facebook post, “We can't imagine how someone could intentionally leave them to die.”


The two surviving puppies, now named Wanda and Cosmo, were “emaciated, dehydrated, and cold”, said the shelter. Wanda and Cosmo “have shown us already how resilient and special they are. We are so thankful to be able to provide them the medical and emotional care to heal until they are ready to be adopted”, added the shelter.


In an interview with WPVI, Lauren Campbell, the operations manager for the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, said that Wanda and Cosmo are approximately ten weeks old and it’s unknown how long they were in the woods for.

I wonder where the babies’ mom is and whether she is safe. If these ignorant, evil, heartless, and soulless individuals do not spay her, what’s going to happen? More abandoned and dead innocent puppies?

BROADUS LANE OXFORD arrested after his dog was found chained up, emaciated, with no food or water

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 60-years-old BROADUS LANE OXFORD (pictured).


On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 5900 block of North Madison Avenue. While in the area, in the backyard of another home, deputies saw a female dog who was chained up.


The Voiceless Victim was so emaciated that as the pictures show, her rib cage was visible under her skin.

Deputies said the poor soul did not have access to food, water, or shelter.


When deputies questioned OXFORD about the dog’s condition, he claimed she was thin because she wouldn’t eat. Deputies also reported that the dog has never been seen by a veterinarian.


According to the arrest report obtained by Voice For Us, OXFORD “stated on body camera that he wished to relinquish the ownership of the dog to the state of Oklahoma and to The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.” The sheriff’s office tells me the dog, a Pitbull/Boxer mix, is currently under veterinary care at Tulsa Animal Welfare and is expected to recover. Tulsa Animal Welfare will then handle her adoption.


When I inquired about the furbaby’s age and name, I was told: “Her age and name are unknown, as she’s never been seen by a vet.”


OXFORD was placed under arrest and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on one count of cruelty to animals. Online records show that bond was set at $2,000 and that OXFORD is still in custody. A court date was scheduled for November 30, 2023.
