Office of Constable Alan Rosen, Harris County Constable Precinct 1 Animal Cruelty Investigators, arrested 66-years-old DWIGHT PAUL HANKINS (pictured) on felony animal torture charges after being caught on surveillance video throwing a female Husky puppy, named Victoria, over the railing of his second-floor apartment. Surveillance showed the furbaby falling onto the pavement, approximately 15 feet below, unable to move.

The distressing footage goes on to show that after throwing the puppy, HANKINS walked back into his apartment and closed the door as if he had just thrown a bag of trash!

The incident happened on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in the 13900 block of Victoria Street.

Houston SPCA rescued the VOICELESS VICTIM and provided immediate medical care.

In a Facebook post, the non-profit explained that Victoria sustained a broken back right leg and said that she has a few other medical issues that need to be treated.

Houston SPCA also said that “Because the animal was abandoned, a Houston SPCA animal cruelty investigator was able to rescue the dog without a warrant and bring her back for immediate care by staff veterinarians and the animal care team. The puppy will remain on campus while she heals.”

Victoria underwent surgery and her broken leg was amputated. The good news is that the furbaby is doing well and she is now recovering in a foster home.

In a press release Houston SPCA said that Adam Reynolds, Chief of Animal Cruelty Investigations for the Houston SPCA, sent out a message for anyone who commits such horrific acts of animal cruelty. He said: “Take note. There are animal lovers everywhere, especially in Houston, who are going to help us stop your violence against animals by capturing it on video and filing a report with us.”

Harris County Precinct 1 deputies said HANKINS was arrested on felony animal cruelty to a non-livestock animal, causing unjustifiable/unreasonable pain and suffering and he could face up to two years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Online court records show that HANKINS is due back in court on December 19, 2022.

30-years-old GRAHAM WILLIAM REID (pictured) did it again!

He tortured innocent, defenseless, and helpless kittens unable to dial for help.

In 2021, REID, a former geometry teacher at Fort Bend Independent School District’s Ridge Point High School, was charged with four counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals for murdering his four cats (Full story here).

This filthy murderer is now facing two counts of felony torture to non-livestock animals in Harris County after he abused two kittens in June 2022.

According to a news release by Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct One obtained by Voice For Us, deputies and Houston SPCA rescued the furbabies after a veterinary clinic reported to officials that the kittens were suffering from chronic physical abuse.

Houston SPCA tells me the kittens, Dunn and Rose, were 8 weeks old at the time of their rescue.

Dunn and Rose were found with repeatedly broken bones and fractured teeth, among other ailments, including a swollen head. Court records accuse REID of striking the kittens against an unknown object and kicking them with his foot. This took place while REID was out on bond in the horrible Fort Bend County case.

Houston SPCA also told me that Dunn and Rose, now 8 months old, “have healed since this summer and were adopted together into a loving home.” The furbabies’ picture was only released last week.

REID was arrested on November 29, 2022, while he was out on bail for the Fort Bend County animal cruelty case.

Court records show that REID will be arraigned at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center on December 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.

~ Update: June 1, 2023

A few days after their arrest in December 2021, ALEX MANUEL SOTO CRUZ and KEISHAW RODRIGUEZ AQUINO bonded out of Bell County Jail but while SOTO CRUZ came back to court and faced trial, RODRIGUEZ AQUINO fled.

As reported by KWTX, RODRIGUEZ AQUINO was recently arrested in Ohio and extradition to Bell County, Texas, is “inevitable.”

Arrest records maintained by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office show that RODRIGUEZ AQUINO was arrested on May 14, 2023, for domestic violence and obstructing official business.

After his arrest in Ohio, Bell County immediately put a hold on his case. Stacey McClinton, the Administrative Lieutenant of the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, told KWTX: “It’s basically saying that we want him, do not release him, because as soon as he’s done his charges in Ohio the state of Texas or Bell County will come and get him.”

The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office explained to KWTX that RODRIGUEZ AQUINO has not been arraigned yet. When he is, if a bond is set and he does bond out, then an extradition hearing will take place which would send RODRIGUEZ AQUINO back to Texas to face animal cruelty and failure to appear charges in Bell County.

With regards to SOTO CRUZ, he has been sentenced to three years in prison.

I have emailed Bell County District Attorney Henry Garza and requested additional information about the sentence. If I hear back, I will post an update.

~ Original story:

We are getting closer to knowing the fate of one of the two monsters who in November 2021, beat, shot with an air gun, and set on fire a defenseless dog before leaving him for dead.

The furbaby, a Pitbull mix puppy, amazingly survived the unimaginable ordeal and was found alive on November 16, 2021, by a citizen who heard noises coming from a suitcase on top of a dumpster near the Dollar General Store in the 203 block of East Hallmark Avenue. The person opened the suitcase and after finding the puppy inside, covered in feces and urine, alerted the Killeen Police Department.

Animal control responded to the scene and took the puppy in for medical attention. A veterinarian examined the furbaby who was emaciated and malnourished. The vet said the puppy had wounds in various stages of healing and signs of blunt force trauma on his head. Police said: “The animal had been lit on fire and the burns were extensive on its back, hips, thighs and genital area.”

The VOICELESS VICTIM was later placed in the care of the nonprofit Second Chance Farm and was named Samsonite.

According to KWTX, inside the suitcase, detectives found an airline tag with the name Rivera-Bauge who was then contacted by police. The person told officers he was the owner of the suitcase and that he had left it behind when he moved out of his old apartment in the 400 block of Gilmer Street in Killeen. The person further told police that he was sharing the apartment with 23-years-old ALEX MANUEL SOTO CRUZ and 23-years-old KEISHAW RODRIGUEZ AQUINO (both pictured) who had a white dog.

The suitcase owner went on to reveal distressing details about how the two males treated their dog. He mentioned that “he would often hear the men strike the dog because he would hear loud noises, the men’s voices, and the dog crying,” reports KWTX.

It’s unknown why he did not report the animal abuse he witnessed!!!

When the two males were interviewed by detectives, SOTO CRUZ admitted to beating the dog and burning him when he was playing with fire and using an aerosol can.

In April 2022, a Bell County grand jury indicted the two monsters on a charge of cruelty to a non-livestock animal, a third-degree felony.

KWTX reports that ALEX MANUEL SOTO CRUZ is set to appear in a Bell County courtroom at a sentencing trial on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Ms. Sandi Walker, with Second Chance Farm, is strongly encouraging people to pack the court room and send the judge a strong message that Samsonite deserves justice!

Sandi plans on commuting all the way from Granbury to make an appearance.
