Court documents obtained by Voice For Us state that on the morning of Monday, July 10, 2023, 22-years-old THOMAS WILLIAM MARTEL (pictured) walked into the 014 District Police Station with his attorney, Brandon E. Brown to turn himself in for incidents related to the death of multiple kittens.

MARTEL, a roofer, is accused of torturing and killing several kittens since May 2023, and replacing every deceased cat with a new one who looked like the previous one, so that his mother would not get suspicious.

The Voiceless Victims were purchased from Craigslist and each new one was named Shelly. All the furvictims were Tabby cats with a distinctive M-shaped marking on their tiny foreheads and stripes on their faces and backs.

The kittens were murdered in various ways, including but not limited to drowning, being placed in a microwave, mutilation with a sharp object, and squeezing. MARTEL murdered the kittens at his home in the 1500 block of North Wicker Park Avenue.

MARTEL’s girlfriend reported him to police after she received a video showing MARTEL throwing a pillowcase into Lake Michigan with a kitten inside.

The girlfriend told police that on May 26, 2023, MARTEL invited her to his home to see his new cats, an adult male named Reggie, and a kitten whom he named Shelly. On June 3, 2023, while under the influence of narcotics, MARTEL drowned the new kitten in a tub of water. He then pulled the unresponsive furbaby out and proceeded to give her CPR by using his thumb to perform chest compressions. The following day, MARTEL said the kitten needed more chest compressions, so he took the furbaby to the bathroom only to come back out to say Shelly was dead.

According to the girlfriend’s statement, MARTEL threw the deceased kitten down his trash chute and then went back on Craigslist and bought another Tabby, whom he named Shelly.

On June 5, 2023, MARTEL told his girlfriend he wanted to teach the new kitten how to swim, so he took the furbaby into the bathroom. A few hours later, MARTEL took from the pantry a bag that had inside what appeared to be a kitten. MARTEL then told his girlfriend the body of the latest kitten was inside the bag before tossing her down the trash chute.

The girlfriend said on June 18, 2023, she went through MARTEL’s phone and found pictures and videos of him torturing the last cat and one of the videos showed the fourth Shelly while she was still alive with the caption “just before I murdered her.”

On June 23, 2023, MARTEL told his girlfriend he had microwaved three kittens and showed her the bag in his pantry. That evening she alerted the authorities.

The girlfriend told police that MARTEL told her he “enjoyed killing cats and he had been like that since he was eight years old.”

Prosecutors have charged this sick and filthy murderer with two felony counts of animal torture and four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at MARTEL’s bond hearing, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Dale-Schmidt laid out the graphic and horrific details to Cook County Circuit judge Kelly McCarthy. To that, judge McCrthy returned: “We’re seeing a pattern of going back again and again. Killing an animal, going out and get a replacement. Kill that one, get a replacement. Kill that one, get a replacement. And, unfortunately, this was allowed to continue for a sustained period of time and numerous animals lost their lives.”

And yet, judge McCarthy released the murderer after posting $75,000 bond. One of the conditions is that MARTER is required to wear an electronic monitor and may not have any contact with animals.

MARTEL is scheduled to appear back in court on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.

MARTEL’s attorney told the court that his client was planning to start a new mental health treatment. In his arrestee questionnaire, MARTEL checked “yes” for serious mental health problems and stated, “He takes medication for mental condition.”

As I was reviewing MARTEL’s court documents I noticed that his bond papers were signed by his father. I wonder how it is possible that this filth acted undisturbed while he continued to murder innocent kittens!

The Kissimmee Police Department arrested 34-years-old OLIVIA SHAWNTAY JONES (pictured) for animal cruelty.

According to court documents, on May 12, 2023, KP Officer Contramaestre, responded to a property on East Cypress Street to assist the Osceola County Sheriff's Office with what started as a civil matter, that later turned into an animal cruelty case.

Upon arrival, KP Officer Contramaestre met with Deputy Sheriff Rhine who was there “to serve a 24-hour eviction notice to a derelict RV camper that was on the property.”

DS Rhine reported that he had knocked on the door of the residence and the male who answered, told him that he was renting the place. The man then allowed DS Rhine access to the backyard and there, DS Rhine “discovered multiple puppies in a makeshift kennel with an unventilated tarp over the kennel.” The puppies were tethered inside the kennel. DS Rhine further noticed a dog who was tethered by a leash outside the kennel. DS Rhine stated: “the leash was wrapped so much, that it allowed very minimal movement and the dog was very emaciated.” DS Rhine reported that the dog did not have shelter and that there was no food or water for any of the dogs.

DS Rhine reported that when he walked to the RV to post the eviction notice, he saw a table outside and, on the table, was a small mesh pink pet bag with two additional puppies inside. The puppies were emaciated and did not have any access to food or water, stated DS Rhine.

DS Rhine sadly discovered a deceased kitten, less than four feet from the front door of the residence.

DS Rhine then notified his supervisor, the Kissimmee Police Department, and Osceola County Animal Control. While waiting for Animal Control, he was able to make contact with the owner of the RV, JONES.

According to court documents, JONES first told DS Rhine that “the dogs in the makeshift kennel were her dogs, the dog on the leash was a stray, and she was babysitting the puppies in the mesh bag.” JONES later told DS Rhine that her friend could not take care of the puppies and that was why she had them.

Animal Control Investigator Melissa Enix responded to the scene and following her observations she stated that her findings constituted felony animal abuse.

At that point, KP Officer Contramaestre had probable cause to believe that JONES “committed aggravated animal cruelty, when she failed to care for the animals she had in her custody of, which resulted in the cruel death, and excessive and repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering of the animals.”

JONES was placed under arrest and transported to the Osceola County Jail.

Online court records show that JONES is facing one felony count of animal cruelty and five misdemeanor counts of confinement of animals without food/water exercise.

Online arrest records show that at time of writing, JONES is still in custody and that her pretrial is slated to take place on the morning of Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 9:00.

Authorities did not disclose the name of the deceased kitten so I took the liberty of naming him/her Soleil (French for sun) for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

The Prince William County Police Department announced the arrest of 18-years-old FREDERICK GRANT PIERCE (pictured) for murdering a defenseless kitten.

In a press release, Master Officer Renee Carr said that on the early evening of Friday, May 26, 2023, officers responded to The Stone Point Apartments in the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Place in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic dispute.

Officers learned that the guardian of a 3-month-old Siamese and Maine Coon kitten had left her furbaby in apartment with a family member, later identified as PIERCE.

When the kitten’s guardian returned, she found the kitten “unresponsive in the bedroom.”

Master Officer Renee Carr tells me that the Voiceless Victim was a male named Misty.

From the investigation it emerged that PIERCE had kicked Misty in his tiny head multiple times.

Animal Control Officers responded to the scene to take possession of Misty for further examination to determine the cause of death.

The completion of the investigation then led to PIERCE’s arrest.

PIERCE, of the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Place in Woodbridge, was charged with felony animal cruelty.

Online court records show that the murderer was released on his own recognizance and will be arraigned at Prince William General District Court on June 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
