On Thursday, February 9, 2023, 47-years-old JONATHAN JAY RAMEY (pictured), pleaded guilty to intentionally setting fire in a house with fifteen animals inside. Sadly, all animals were killed in the fire.

The incident happened on October 1, 2022, when RAMEY set fire in seven different places of the house where he lived, on 1730 11th Street NW.

Two smoke alarms had been removed from the building and RAMEY had texted the homeowner repeatedly that he would set fire to the home with the animals inside.

Four ducks, three rabbits, two dogs, two geese, two fish, a cat, and a snake lost their precious lives in the fire.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department arrested RAMEY on October 18, 2022, on an outstanding warrant for Arson 2nd Degree and fifteen counts of Animal Cruelty Causing Serious Injury or Death. He was then transported to the Linn County Jail.

A jury trial was scheduled to take place in mid-February 2023, but the murderer took a plea deal and on Thursday he pleaded guilty to ONLY one count of animal abuse and the arson charge.

This means that at sentencing, scheduled for April 11, 2023, the other fourteen animal abuse charges will be DROPPED!

The sentence for the arson charge, up to 10 years in prison, will run consecutive to the animal abuse charge, up to two years, for a total of 12 years.

On November 3, 2022, at Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas, after a day-long trial, twelve jurors found 40-years-old ALYIA SHAVON WEST (pictured), guilty on four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

In September 2021, the Lycoming County SPCA was alerted to the conditions of four puppies at a property on Hepburn Street in Williamsport. Officials found the puppies, named Angel, Ice, Jr., Rocky, and Sky, to be lethargic and very cold to the touch. The furbabies were barely lifting their heads. They were taken to the SPCA and given fluids in an effort to help them. The puppies were tested for several ailments. They tested positive for coccidia, along with having liquid diarrhea. Sadly, Angel and Rocky passed away.

Experts testified coccidia can be treated with proper care and WEST failed to provide the puppies with this.

Officials accused WEST of ignoring obvious signs that four puppies were in need of immediate medical care.

WEST was charged with five counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals, six counts of misdemeanor neglect of animals, and 11 summary charges of the same offense after the puppies were discovered.

According to NorthcentralPA.com, Human Society Officer Besty Sparling wrote in the report: “West said that her dog Snow had a litter of 11 puppies and she rehomed four or five puppies, one had died, and three were very sickly and she would like to owner surrender them.”

During the trial, Lycoming County Assistant District Attorney Taylor Jeanne Beucler, who prosecuted this case, showed the jury pictures of the puppies and asked: “Would a reasonable person have provided care for the puppies?” She then added: “None of us want to be here. This isn’t a topic we want to talk about.”

WEST will be back in court on March 2, 2023, for sentencing.

~ Update: October 10, 2023

On October 9, 2023, State Attorney Ed Brodsky’s office announced that on October 4, 2023, 31-years-old ALICIA DEEANN KINCHELOE (pictured) was found guilty of one count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and one count of Tampering with Evidence. Additionally, the jury found that KINCHELOE intentionally tortured or tormented a raccoon by setting him/her on fire.

Circuit Court Judge Donna Padar presided over the trial.

KINCHELOE is scheduled to be sentenced on December 19, 2023. She faces a maximum sentence of only ten years and I hope she gets them all!

Andrew van Sickle, the Animal Cruelty Prosecutor in Sarasota, said in a statement: “Unfortunately, we were not able to save this animal from a horrific death. However, I am delighted that the jury agreed that all animals, whether domesticated or wild, should be treated humanely and with respect. A simple phone call to Animal Services or FWC would have averted this entire tragedy.”

A criminal animal abuse charge against KINCHELOE’s father, 64-years-old RODDY ROBERT KINCHELOE (also pictured), is still pending. Court records show his jury trial is set to begin on January 16, 2024.

~ Original story:

Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman held a press conference on Friday, September 2, 2022, about the murder of an innocent and defenseless raccoon on August 11, 2022.

The killers have been identified as 30-years-old ALICIA DEEANN KINCHELOE and her father 63-years-old RODDY ROBERT KINCHELOE (both pictured).

At the beginning of the press conference Sheriff Hoffman addressed the criticism that his office and the state’s attorney’s office received for taking weeks to arrest the murderers. He explained that it took time for his deputies to compile evidence, conduct interviews, obtain videos, and obtain signatures on warrants before the arrests were made.

The sheriff also pointed out the significant amount of attention this case received even from out of Florida.

Evidence gathered during the investigation showed that RODDY ROBERT KINCHELOE stabbed the raccoon with a pitchfork while the creature was in a dumpster behind some businesses, and his daughter was filming the revolting act.

Sheriff Hoffman said videos obtained did not show the raccoon displaying any aggressive behavior.

After stabbing the poor soul, father and daughter went out to lunch and then returned to the dumpster to find out that the raccoon was still alive.

At that point, the father told his daughter to get a gasoline can from his truck and set the raccoon on fire.

The daughter can be heard in the video saying: “We just toasted his (expletive), who’s hungry?

A second video showed the father hosing down the dumpster and pulling the raccoon out who at that point was deceased. The daughter picks up the raccoon, and while she goes off camera she disposes of the body.

Sheriff Hoffman said father and daughter claimed there was water in the gasoline jug, not gas.

Deputies were able to prove that there was flammable liquid inside the can.

The evil-minded duo were arrested on the afternoon of Thursday, September 1, 2022.

The daughter, of 2457 E. Burr Oak Court, Sarasota, is charged with aggravated animal cruelty and tampering with physical evidence. She was released on $3,000 bond.

The father, of 2443 Eugene Street, Sarasota, is charged with a single count of aggravated animal cruelty.

The father’s mugshot was taken at a hospital because, during the course of his arrest, he claimed he experienced a medical issue and was taken to a hospital where the booking photograph was taken. Sheriff Hoffman said: “I don’t know the specifics of his medical condition, nor do I really care.”

The scum was released on a $1,500 bond.

Sheriff Hoffman said while the daughter did not have a prior criminal record, her father has a fairly extensive criminal history, which you would expect from a scum that hurts animals, he said. Among the offenses are drugs, prostitution, domestic violence, and contempt of court.

What can I say about these sadistic, useless, evil oxygen thieves that has not already been said?

Wishing you the same torture you inflicted on a creature who could not fight back would be too generous. You both deserve more pain.

I hope one day you will both witness each other being tortured and not be able to intervene.

Then you will know how the raccoon felt.
