If you are watching all the 2022 FIFA World Cup games, the pre and post games TV shows, and press conferences, you got to see live a disturbing incident that happened on Friday, December 2, 2022, while Brazil and Real Madrid forward, 22-years-old Vinícius Júnior, was speaking to the media ahead of Brazil’s quarterfinal clash with Croatia.

A cat jumped on the table and sat next to the microphones. The furbaby appeared to be interested in the press conference minding his/her own business and did not look at all frightened by the noise around him/her.

The communication manager of the Brazil team, identified as VINICIUS RODRIGUES by fanpage.it, was sitting next to Vinícius Júnior and began to stroke the cat. All of a sudden, after a few seconds, he stood up and, grabbed the furbaby with both hands and threw him/her to the ground, provoking a moan of disapproval by some of the people present in the press room.

Needless to say, the video immediately went viral and many people rightfully slammed RODRIGUES for the mean way he handled the cat. He could have gently picked up the cat and placed him/her on the floor instead of throwing him/her the way he did.

You can see in the picture how the furbaby reacted to this.

Vinícius Júnior burst into stupid laughter as if the incident was amusing!

Following the reaction of those present in the press room, RODRIGUES justified his mean action by saying that that’s the only way to pick up a cat. His explanation, however, did not convince many netizens and animal rights activists, including PETA, and the controversy regarding this episode has literally flared up, especially in Brazil. According to fanpage.it, the intervention of the Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of the State of São Paulo was necessary to try to defuse the situation. In a statement they declared that “in the conduct of Vinicius Rodrigues it did not find any element that could be defined as ill-treatment.”

30-years-old GRAHAM WILLIAM REID (pictured) did it again!

He tortured innocent, defenseless, and helpless kittens unable to dial for help.

In 2021, REID, a former geometry teacher at Fort Bend Independent School District’s Ridge Point High School, was charged with four counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals for murdering his four cats (Full story here).

This filthy murderer is now facing two counts of felony torture to non-livestock animals in Harris County after he abused two kittens in June 2022.

According to a news release by Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct One obtained by Voice For Us, deputies and Houston SPCA rescued the furbabies after a veterinary clinic reported to officials that the kittens were suffering from chronic physical abuse.

Houston SPCA tells me the kittens, Dunn and Rose, were 8 weeks old at the time of their rescue.

Dunn and Rose were found with repeatedly broken bones and fractured teeth, among other ailments, including a swollen head. Court records accuse REID of striking the kittens against an unknown object and kicking them with his foot. This took place while REID was out on bond in the horrible Fort Bend County case.

Houston SPCA also told me that Dunn and Rose, now 8 months old, “have healed since this summer and were adopted together into a loving home.” The furbabies’ picture was only released last week.

REID was arrested on November 29, 2022, while he was out on bail for the Fort Bend County animal cruelty case.

Court records show that REID will be arraigned at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center on December 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 65-years-old OSVALDO ALOMA GARRIDO (pictured), an Alonso High School janitor, for shooting at cats.

The sheriff’s office said that on the evening of November 12, 2022, deputies responded to a home in the 9700 block of Elm Way in the Three Lakes Mobile Home Park, in reference to a neighbor's call reporting they heard shots and saw GARRIDO carrying a pellet rifle in front of his home.

According to a news release, one witness told deputies that he retrieved GARRIDO’s rifle and stored it inside his home without any resistance from GARRIDO. At the time, deputies determined no crime was committed and did not find any animals suffering from a shooting, nor did any witnesses see GARRIDO firing shots at animals.

More than a week later, however, detectives interviewed a witness in the same area who stated that a cat was found with several pellet shot wounds in his/her body several weeks before that date. As part of the investigation, detectives obtained records from a local veterinarian who confirmed the cat sustained multiple injuries from a pellet gun.

When deputies interviewed GARRIDO on November 22, 2022, he admitted to shooting at multiple cats in the area.

On November 30, 2022, deputies executed a warrant and GARRIDO was placed under arrest on one charge of aggravated cruelty to animals with a weapon.

FOX 13 reports that resident Kathryn Barnes and her boyfriend look after the homeless cats in Three Lakes Mobile Home Park and said that over the last year and a half, seven cats have been shot and three have died. One of the surviving cats, Buddy, has a broken front leg and might have one of his back legs amputated after being shot either on November 5, or November 6.

Before GARRIDO’s arrest, Kathryn told FOX 13: “I am angry, I am upset and I don’t understand how people can do this.”

Residents at Three Lakes Mobile Home Park said there may be several hundred feral cats living in the community and for many of them, it's the only home they've ever known.

Ms. Jennifer Tate, a volunteer with St. Francis Society, told FOX 13: “These poor cats. They didn't ask to be born. They are just living their life. Somebody is taking pleasure out of torturing them.” Volunteers with the rescue said they were organizing fundraisers and vet visits for the wounded cats.

Hillsborough County Schools said GARRIDO is facing termination based on his felony charge. “He has worked for the district since 2017 and had not experienced disciplinary action prior to the arrest, according to the district,” reports WFLA. The news agency further reports that Hillsborough County Jail records show GARRIDO is from Cuba and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been notified of his arrest.

GARRIDO was booked at the Orient Road Jail under a $7,500 bond.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said: “I will not tolerate any act of animal cruelty in our county. The suspect had no regard for the animals he injured and admitted to firing shots on various occasions. It's disheartening to know that there are individuals who intentionally harm animals. We will not condone violence against any animal and we will continue to make sure that individuals who commit these crimes are held accountable.”

This investigation is active.
