~ Original story:

On Friday, January 20, 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged 45-years-old ALEJANDRO MANUEL FLORES, of Sun Valley, with five counts of animal cruelty in connection with the killing of two dogs and injuring a third.

According to a news release by the Los Angeles Police Department, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 18, 2023, its patrol officers from Foothill Division responded to a radio call of a “Home Invasion Robbery” that was taking place in the 9200 block of Cayuga Avenue in the community of Sun Valley.

Officers were advised by witnesses “that the suspect was in the backyard of a residence, armed with a knife and was possibly being attacked by dogs at the property. Witnesses updated Los Angeles Police Department Communications Division and advised that the suspect was also stabbing dogs at the location,” said police.

When officers made contact with the suspect, they saw a knife in his right hand and two dead dogs in the yard. The suspect, later identified as FLORES, was taken into custody.

Officers then made contact with the homeowners and learned that FLORES “was a known relative who resided at the location”.

In addition to the deceased dogs, officers also found a third dog who had been injured and was transported to a local animal shelter. Police did not disclose details about the furbaby’s well-being. Needless to say, I will email police and see how much they can disclose at this point so that I can update you all.

FLORES was booked for felony animal cruelty and online records show that he is still in custody on a $60,000 bail. According to court records, FLORES is scheduled to appear at the San Fernando courthouse for his arraignment on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.

Voice For Us strongly believes that when it comes to Animal Cruelty, the crimes need to be called what they are. When an innocent animal is killed it’s MURDER and it should be described, handled, and tried as such!

Additionally, Voice For Us does not agree with those law enforcement agencies who do not release animals abusers’ mugshots!!!!

An innocent dog was recently SENSELESSLY and CRUELLY MURDERED and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is reaching out to the public to identify the male responsible for this sadistic crime!

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Doorbell video captured “an unknown Hispanic or White male” parking in the 3000 block of Duffy Street in Muscoy.

The footage shows the male exiting the driver's door, walking to the passenger side of his vehicle, and letting a dog out of the truck. The video goes on to show the suspect getting back into the vehicle leaving the dog out while the furbaby’s tail is wagging unaware of what is about to happen to him/her.

Once the male is back in the truck, he INTENTIONALLY runs over the dog, killing the defenseless furbaby. The coward then fled the scene!

According to a news release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the San Bernardino County Animal Care Department was dispatched to the location and recovered the deceased dog.

As part of the investigation, Sheriff's Department investigators obtained video surveillance of the incident and screenshots of the suspect and the vehicle which has been described to possibly be a Nissan Titan.

PLEASE, do not make the mistake of thinking that this individual is just another animal abuser. Do not underestimate what happened here. If the suspect did not want the dog, the humane thing to do would have been to surrender the furbaby to a shelter. The fact that he resorted to murder, strongly indicates that his innate nature will make him move on to humans next. He must be found as soon as possible.

On Friday, December 9, 2022, Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward announced that criminal charges were filed against 51-years-old CESAR FLORES (PICTURED), related to an animal abuse case.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said that on December 6, 2022, its AG Crimes Unit detectives were alerted to a possible animal abuse case in the 25300 block of Avenue 220 in Lindsay.

Upon arrival, on two different parcels of land, detectives found 48 horses, 13 cows, and dozens of dogs and puppies in need of care. Sadly, two horses were found deceased and a cow had to be euthanized on site.

Detectives worked in partnership with Tulare County Animal Control and personnel from Pacific Crest Veterinary Clinic.

A thorough review of the animals revealed that the majority of the horses and cattle were malnourished and in need of urgent care.

From an investigation it emerged that FLORES is the owner of the ranch, which is just west of Polarbear Ammunition and Training sporting goods store in rural Lindsay, and guardian of all the animals.

FLORES was arrested on forty-four felony counts of cruelty to animals.

In the afternoon of Thursday, December 8, 2022, he was arraigned on the charges and pleaded not guilty. The court released FLORES on supervised own recognizance with a GPS monitor.

DA Ward said that prosecutors raised concerns of his release for the safety of the animals and the court imposed conditions that FLORES “must stay at least 100 yards away from his property and the animals. He also cannot possess animals and must make regular contact with probation.”

FLORES is scheduled to return to court on December 22, 2022, in Department 18 for a preliminary hearing setting.

DA Ward said that according to current California sentencing laws, if convicted FLORES faces probation or a potential local time prison sentence.

This is an ongoing in investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sergeant Dan Balderas or Detective Ryan Pugh at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at (559) - 733 - 6218, or anonymously through the TipNow Program at (559) - 725 - 4194 or tcso@tipnow.com.
