On August 11, 2022, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey personally walked to jail 32-years-old ERICA RAVEN BLACK (pictured), as he does with all animal abusers. He always has something to say to the arrestees as they are being walked to jail, but this time he did not have much to say given the atrocious nature of this case. He simply told BLACK: “I am disgusted by you!.”

In a video posted on Facebook, Sheriff Ivey explained that BLACK was already in custody for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon where she stabbed twice a 68-year-old male in July 2022.

BLACK is accused of drowning a tiny female Chihuahua, named Sadie, in a pool. This incident, captured by a home surveillance video, happened back in October 2021, but as Sheriff Ivey said, it’s only come to light now because BLACK’s roommate came forward with the video.

The graphic footage shows BLACK entering the pool while she’s holding Sadie. She then immerses the furbaby who desperately fights with everything she got. Once Sadie passes away, BLACK leaves her floating body in the pool and records her. But that’s not sadistic enough for BLACK. In fact, the video goes on to show BLACK taking Sadie out of the water and slamming her tiny, lifeless body on the deck multiple times. BLACK then left Sadie on a sofa for several days. Finally, BLACK goes live on social media telling people what she’s done while she’s holding up Sadie.

While BLACK is at the pool murdering Sadie, two other small live dogs can be seen in the video. I will email the sheriff’s office to find out what happened to those furbabies.

BLACK is charged with felony animal cruelty.

On Friday, the filthy murderer made her first court appearance and on top of her already existing $150,000 bond for the stabbing, a judge added another $15,000 to the bond for the charge of animal cruelty.

Court records show BLACK’s arraignment is set for September 13, 2022.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said that on August 10, 2022, Community Crime Unit Detectives along with CCSO Animal Control responded to a property on 6619 West Copenhagen Street in Dunnellon, about suspected breeding of roosters for fighting.

Upon arrival, investigators found on the property many small A-frame-style structures with roosters tethered to the ground by each structure.

According to the affidavit, the roosters had “their combs, waddles, and spurs removed”.

Officials made contact with 65-years-old ROBERTO AREVALO MIRANDA (pictured), who lived in a camper on the property.

MIRANDA told detectives that he stayed on the property and worked for his friend who raises roosters to ship to the Philippines for fighting. MIRANDA further stated that he has lived on the property for approximately eight months and has started raising his own roosters. He told detectives that the roosters are bred here for the purposes of being sold as fighting roosters.

MIRANDA went on to say that he sells his roosters to a broker in Georgia who then sells them to unknown subjects in the Philippines.

During the course of the investigation, MIRANDA walked through the property with an officer and pointed at his roosters. According to the affidavit, MIRANDA said “any and all rosters with a black zip ties around one of the feet are his roosters.” There were a total of nine (9) roosters with black zip ties on their legs.

While walking through the property, the officer then saw two (2) dogs in a fenced-in area.

The dogs did not have any water, food, or shelter.

It should be noted that the heat index via dispatch was 106 degrees in Dunnellon”, stated the affidavit.

The sheriff’s office said that CCSO Animal Control seized the two dogs, fifty-nine roosters, and hens.

MIRANDA was placed under arrest and transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility.

He is charged with nine counts of breeding, possessing, selling, and owning fighting animals with a bond of $5,000 per count.

He is additionally charged with two counts of animal cruelty with bond of $1,000 per count.

Online records show he is still in custody and his arraignment has been scheduled for August 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Joel D. Fritton.

Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast said further investigation is ongoing to determine if any other suspects are related to this illegal breeding operation or if there is any connection to the previous case of cock fighting in Floral City.

An investigation into a suspected case of abuse involving a puppy resulted in detectives with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office Animal Cruelty Investigations Alliance to arrest 23-years-old ROBERT WILLIAM GARON (pictured).

The investigation was launched on August 2, 2022, after the sheriff's office was contacted by Collier County Domestic Animal Services who reported possible abuse inflicted on a 5-month-old Goldendoodle puppy.

From the investigation it emerged that on July 29, 2022, GARON and his girlfriend brought their puppy, named Buzz Lightyear, to the Emergency Pet Hospital on 6530 Dudley Drive.

Buzz Lightyear was injured and the duo were unable to provide hospital staff with an explanation for his injuries. Reportedly, the girlfriend came back home to find Buzz Lightyear near to death.

According to Collier County Sheriff’s Office Law & Order News, “The puppy was wet, disoriented, and unable to breathe normally. The dog was unable to stand or pick its head up.”

An examination revealed possible head trauma, bruising to the right ear and mouth, and muscle damage throughout the body. X-rays also showed contusions to the lung. Sadly, despite treatment, Buzz Lightyear died at the hospital from his injuries.

The hospital was later contacted by a witness who told staff that on July 29, 2022, they heard GARON beating the puppy.

Due to the allegations of abuse, hospital staff contacted Domestic Animal Services who subsequently alerted the sheriff’s office

As part of the investigation, veterinarian Dr. John Morton performed a necropsy on Buzz Lightyear at Humane Society Naples.

The necropsy report included the following:

This dog’s death was caused by non-accidental, blunt force trauma to the head and body with secondary internal hemorrhage. I believe he suffered significantly from his injuries before death.”

Through the investigation detectives determined that GARON had inflicted the injuries.

WINK reports that witnesses said in a sworn statement that “the puppy was crying and yelping out in pain as he was beaten to death.”

Two witnesses told authorities that GARON “while intoxicated, locked himself into a room and beat the dog.” According to the witnesses they could not enter the room, but the beating continued for several minutes until the crying stopped.

GARON, of 7545 Campania Way #207 Naples, was taken into custody Thursday, August 11, 2022.

He was booked into the Collier County Jail on one count of cruelty to animals causing cruel death, pain or suffering. Online records show GARON was released after posting bond!

GARON is slated to be back in court on September 6, 2022.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said: “This is one of the worst cases of animal abuse we’ve seen. No animal should ever have to suffer such a death.”

And yet, according to WINK: “Authorities say this is the second dog in five months to die in his (GARON's) care.

During GARON’s first court appearance on Friday, August 12, 2022, a judge set bail for GARON at $150,000. His defense attorneys asked for $10,000. GARON has been ordered to not have any animals or contact witnesses.
