Deputies with the Jacksonville’s Sheriff’s Office have arrested 48-years-old TERRY LAMONT THOMAS (pictured). With the assistance of Animal Care and Protective Services twenty dogs and two rabbits were removed from his property on Castle Boulevard. A warrant was served on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

THOMAS faces charges of animal cruelty and confining animals without sufficient food and water.

Animal Care and Protective Services took custody of the dogs and the rabbits.

The petition for the removal of the animals was filed in 2021, stating that many of the dogs were covered in feces, suffered wounds, and had other untreated medical conditions.

In 2021, THOMAS was arrested and accused of confining animals without sufficient food and water. That charge was dropped, but the city filed a petition to remove the mistreated animals. THOMAS “defaulted on the petition, and on Wednesday, the city acted to remove the animals,” reports News4Jax.

In the backyard, officials found crates and heavy chains attached to poles. Some of those chains had dog collars attached. The officer who wrote the arrest report stated that he “observed urine and feces throughout the dog cages.”

The incident reports states that the search also led to the discovery and confiscation of vitamins, syringes, bait trap, spring pull rope, bite stick, and skin and wound treatment spray.

Online arrest records show that THOAMS was released on November 17, 2022, and has a court date for Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.

In December 2019, THOMAS was arrested on charges related to dogfighting, intentionally causing cruel death, and unnecessary suffering.

On Friday, October 28, 2022, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-years-old PLINIO ROBERTO DE CAMARGO JR. (pictured), on two counts of animal cruelty.

DE CAMARGO, co-owner of American Dog Pet Grooming, was arrested after a Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control officer received five videos from an employee reporting animal abuse at the business.

WPTV reports that the “whistleblower claims there have been problems there for months.” According to the affidavit, a few groomers have resigned.

Investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office say the videos show DE CAMARGO abusing dogs.

According to an arrest affidavit, DE CAMARGO is seen in the videos “manhandling” dogs, striking some with a closed fist, twisting a dog's hair, picking up a dog only by holding his/her hair, and pulling a dog’s hair “in a cruel and inhumane manner”, reports FOX 29.

WPTV spoke with Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control and they said after watching the videos that there’s no excuse for what was done. Reportedly, the business has been looked at in the past. Animal control received two complaints with the most recent one in May 2022, but both cases were closed due to the lack of evidence. WPTV reached out to ALESSANDRA BRESCIANI BARRETO, the other owner of American Dog Pet Grooming and DE CAMARGO’s wife (the female pictured below on the phone), but she did not have any comments.

DE CAMARGO was in court the day after his arrest and pleaded not guilty. He is expected back next week.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 45-years-old LISANDRO ARELLANO (pictured), after a witness saw him dragging a helpless dog behind a moving truck on October 9, 2022.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that the witness saw ARELLANO dragging a French Bulldog mix while traveling eastbound on Lantana Road between Military Trail and Lawrence Road. According to the release, “The witness caught the attention of the suspect, thinking it was an honest mistake, but when the suspect stopped his vehicle, he picked the dog up off the ground and threw her in the bed of his truck then drove off.”

The witness was thankfully able to provide authorities with a picture of the truck’s license plate.

Detectives and PBC Animal Care & Control, located ARELLANO, who agreed to turn over the French Bulldog mix, named Blanco, to PBC Animal Care & Control. From the investigation it emerged that Blanco was a family members’ dog and that person had trusted ARELLANO to look after the furbaby. WPBF refers to the furbaby as Blanca.

Blanco inevitably sustained injuries from being dragged by her neck while her body was scraped along the roadway. ARELLANO unnecessarily allowed Blanco to suffer in pain repeatedly and the sheriff’s office is grateful to the witness for stepping in and reporting the “heinous act.”

ARELLANO was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on one count of aggravated animal cruelty and one count of cruelty towards animals. Online arrest records show ARELLANO was released after posting bond.

The sheriff’s office said that Blanco is being treated and recovering.
