The search for a suspected cat murderer in Springfield neighborhood has come to an end with the arrest of 35-years-old BLAKE WILLIAM MILES (pictured).

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that beginning mid-November, deputies began receiving phone calls reporting missing and/or deceased cats, and over the course of a couple of weeks, officers assigned in the Springfield area of Zone 1 responded to multiple calls for service. “As a result of the complaints, and seeing a pattern developing in the area, officers immediately began canvassing the known areas of the reported incidents attempting to put a name to the face of the potential suspect,” stated the release.

The sheriff’s office explained that “Several members of the local community notified the sheriff’s office with possible information on the suspect and social media posts related the incidents were posted by citizens as well.” Deputies eventually identified MILES as the suspect and an arrest warrant was sought.

MILES was located on Sunday, November 27, 2022, and taken into custody. He is charged with a third-degree felony animal cruelty for the death of an innocent cat named Ashi, that took place on November 12, 2022.

MILES violently removed Ashi from the family home front porch, wrestled the furbaby to the ground, and then brought Ashi to a location where he placed Ashi into a tarp that was laying on the ground. Since then, Ashi has not been seen and is presumed dead.

Ashi’s guardian, Heather Golden, briefly came face-to-face with MILES and was able to draw a sketch.

News4Jax reports that resident Chris Waterman had been following a conversation on a local Facebook group and saw the drawn sketch. He said: “I had a pretty good idea of what he looked like, and, you know, some other distinguishing features, the mustache, the hat and things like that.”

Mr. Waterman explained that upon witnessing himself someone who appeared to be the same man attempting to lure a cat over, he stepped in. He told News4Jax: “I ran downstairs and grabbed my baseball bat, just as a precaution, and waited to see if he was going to act any further. And then, when he started coaxing the cat was, when I kind of sprang into action and approached him with a baseball bat.” According to Mr. Waterman, MILES quickly walked away. He then gave MILES’ description to the authorities.

According to News4Jax, neighbors said the bodies of two of the missing cats were recently found in a nearby dumpster, one of them named Chris. “It was not immediately known if the death of either of those cats is the case that Miles is charged in connection with,” reports the news agency.

After MILES’ arrest, Golden told News4Jax: “JSO went really hard at this. I feel like the neighborhood coming together and giving them the information with the wanted posters, we made a real push to help them get this done.”

MILES is in Duval County Jail also on one misdemeanor count of petit theft.

The filthy murderer is due in court on December 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.

The sheriff’s office advised that deputies continue to follow-up other similar reported cases in the area, as they work to identify if the suspect is the same or if there could be others involved.

Cat parents, PLEASE, do not allow your cats to roam free in the streets or to be UNSUPERVISED in your porch or in your yard. If you decide to bring a furbaby into your family, be prepared to fully protect them like you would with a human baby!!!!

Don’t let a safe neighborhood fool you and don’t trust a cat-friendly community because EVIL TRAVELS!

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey personally walked to jail another sorry excuse for a human being for animal cruelty. While 29-years-old HELENE MARYLINE MURRAY (pictured), was in a police vehicle waiting to make her way behind bars, Sheriff Ivey said: “Folks this one is one of the worst I have ever seen in my entire life, and I know you have heard me saying that before, but this one takes the cake.”

MURRAY is accused of intentionally killing an innocent dog by throwing a rock onto a busy street, onto an upcoming car, knowing the dog would chase the rock. The vehicle inevitably hit and killed the furbaby.

Sheriff Ivey said MURRAY was caught on video breaking the window of her neighbor’s car. The neighbor’s dog was there, minding his own business when MURRAY picked up a rock, and threw it on to the heavily traveled U.S. Highway 1 luring the dog to his death. MURRAY admitted to her despicable actions. The video posted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office does not show the graphic and devastating part where the furbaby was killed.

MURRAY is facing multiple charges including Felony aggravated animal cruelty and is being held in the Brevard County Jail.

Court records show that MURRAY will be in court on December 15, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. before Judge Michelle Baker.

Sheriff Ivey said: “There’s only one place for somebody who intentionally causes the death of an animal – right here at the Brevard County Jail.”

Sheriff Ivey, I disagree. The place that I have in mind is hot, does not have comforts, and has the highest flames!

On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Ms. Tamara Trujillo, a Child Protection Services investigator, was called to a home on 2511 East 20th Street in Sanford to check on the well-being of a juvenile following an incident that happened the day before.

While Ms. Trujillo was at the residence, she observed many dogs. A woman identified as EMERALD BRITTON, resident at the property and the girlfriend of 40-years-old BRANDON WESLEY HARDY BLAKE (pictured), took Ms. Trujillo in the backyard where elevated kennels were found housing several dogs in poor health. Ms. Trujillo then alerted the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Range and Water Unit.

Detectives and Seminole County Animal Services responded to the home and removed many dogs due to the “inhumane living conditions and malnourished health conditions,” stated the report. Seminole County Animal Services said they were able to rescue thirty-nine dogs but one of them was so sick he/she had to be euthanized.

On the property, officials also discovered four deceased dogs in separate kennels and Detective Raborn reported: “I estimate the dogs were dead for several days to possibly a week. Most of the on-site kennels were without food, fresh water and full of feces.”

Deputies with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrested BLAKE, owner of a dog-training business called Brandon Blake K9 Services.

Seminole County Emergency Manager Alan Harris said: “It looked like a puppy mill where he was breeding dogs. (He) cared absolutely nothing about the dogs whatsoever.”

He also said that BLAKE’s license to operate the business has been revoked and he can no longer have a kennel in the county.

Arrest records show BLAKE was released from Seminole County Jail after posting a $21,000 bond according to court records he is facing four felony counts of animal abuse causing death and twenty-six misdemeanor counts of impounding or confining an animal without sufficient food or water.

During his first court appearance on November 23, 2022, Judge Wayne Culver prohibited BLAKE to return to the home and care for the animals.

BLAKE’s arraignment is slated to take place on January 17, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Donna L. McIntosh, and the Speedy Trial Date was set for May 16, 2023.

As per court order, BRITTON will no longer be residing at the home to care for the animals.

Seminole County Animal Services were at full capacity even before taking in the thirty-nine dogs removed from BLAKE’s hell and you can only imagine the hardship they have to face now.

Allow me to invite you to consider adopting their furbabies who are ready for their new furever home. Thank you!

BRANDON WESLEY HARDY BLAKE, you did not take care of those defenseless souls, you saw their injuries and infections, you were aware that there were four innocent deceased dogs on the property, and you saw the kennels without food or water. How cruel, heartless, and soulless are you to treat innocent animals like this?
