The Walker County Sheriff's Office arrested 43-year-old TABITHA HENLEY (pictured).

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by Walker County Animal Control. The agency received a call from a realtor reporting several dogs at a property on 349 Ridgeland Road near Rossville who were barking, growling, and charging at him.

When ACO responded to the given address, they noticed that one of the dogs was having trouble walking.

ACO Bishop knocked on the door and spoke with HENLEY about the dog’s condition.

A spokesperson for Walker County tells me the furvictim’s name is Stratton.

HENLEY told ACO Bishop that Stratton had been run over by a vehicle some time ago, but she had not sought veterinary treatment. She then agreed to surrender Stratton to the county so he could receive medical care.

According to a veterinarian, x-rays on Stratton’s leg showed it was broken and that the injury was likely several months old. The veterinarian explained to ACO Bishop that the injury was very painful, and the best course of action was to amputate Stratton’s leg.

HENLEY was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

A warrant has also been issued for the arrest of her boyfriend, RICHARD NEALON, on the same charge.

~ Update: June 17, 2025

The Queen Creek Police Department released an updated statement and identified the arrestee as ABRAHAM BRANDON DELAROSA.

DELAROSA's case was filed at San Tan Justice Court (Case Number: JC2025124668). Court records show DELAROSA's arraignment will take place on July 1, 2025, at 9: 00 a.m..

~ Original story:

The Queen Creek Police Department arrested a 40-year-old male, whose name was not disclosed, after two innocent dogs were found lifeless inside a hot car.

On Friday, June 13, 2025, officers responded to a shopping complex near Signal Butte and Queen roads where “two dogs were found left in a parked vehicle for at least six hours, resulting in the death of both animals”, said police.

On Friday temperatures around the Valley reached as high as 104 degrees.

The arrestee was an employee of a nearby business. He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

No other details were given, and the investigation is ongoing.

I have reached out to the Queen Creek Police Department to inquire about the dogs and at the time of writing, I have not heard back.

I took the liberty of naming the furvictims Azure and Royal for the tribute image. Should their given names be made public, I will rectify them accordingly.

On May 30, 2025, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office took to social media after eighteen rabbits were found abandoned in cages by a dumpster at 15730 W 6th Avenue Frontage Road in Golden.

Deputies, who made the discovery on May 10, 2025, said the eighteen rabbits included “two litters of babies (6 juveniles, 7 younger babies with their mom), a few adult females, and one adult male”.

The sheriff’s office asked: “Who’s the Harebrained Culprit?

Well, according to an update posted on Facebook, the sheriff’s office was able “to quickly identify the suspect behind the rabbit abandonment.”

Deputies said the community’s tips helped track down the suspect.

The post read: “Rabbit Justice: Delivered!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone in our community who shared tips, info, and posts. Because of your quick action and support, we were able to quickly identify the suspect behind the rabbit abandonment. He faces 18 misdemeanor charges of Animal Cruelty.

With justice served, there are still some bunnies ready to go to new homes. If you’re ready to adopt, 4–5 bunnies are available at the Foothills Animal Shelter.

We couldn’t have done this without you. Thanks for keeping an eye out and making a difference.”

The identity of the suspect was not revealed.
