Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones announced the arrest of 22-year-old ZACHARY L. ROLLINS (pictured).
According to the office’s press release provided to Voice For Us, on the early afternoon of Saturday, May 10, 2025, Deputy Noah Dishman responded to a residence on Skyview Drive in Somerset to investigate a domestic altercation report.
As deputies were making their way to the aforementioned address, they were notified that one of the individuals involved in the altercation, “had bitten the ear off of the caller’s cat,” stated the release.
The investigation determined that ROLLINS had bitten a cat’s ear off. Investigators were shown video evidence of the incident as well as ROLLINS’ messages to a family member where he said the cat had bitten him so he bit the cat’s ear.
A spokesperson for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office tells me the furvictim “is still alive, and has undergone medical treatment but I am not aware as to what extent at this time.”
ROLLINS, of Russell Springs, was placed under arrest and booked into the Pulaski County
Detention Center on one felony count of torture of a dog or cat.
After ROLLINS was arrested, Deputy Marcus Harrison filed a warrant for a separate
incident that happened in April involving ROLLINS and the death of two other cats.
The warrant, which was signed on May 11, 2025, charges ROLLINS with two more counts of torture of a dog or cat and was served while he remained in the Pulaski County Detention Center. At the time of writing, records show he is being held with a combined $50,000 bond.
