ZABRIA JARIE BRIDGES, Atlanta Police officer, accused of beating her dog to death

Updated: Sep 29

- Georgia, USA -

The Douglasville Police Department arrested 26-year-old ZABRIA JARIE BRIDGES (pictured), an Atlanta Police officer.

The arrest warrant accused BRIDGES of maliciously causing severe or prolonged physical pain to her dog by beating him/her, causing several broken bones and internal bleeding. The savage actions sadly resulted in the furvictim’s death.

According to the warrant, the incident took place on the morning of August 17, 2025, at BRIDGES’ apartment at the Emblem Riverside Apartments on Riverside Parkway in Lithia Springs.

Records show BRIDGES was arrested on September 16, 2025, and booked into the Douglas County Jail. She was released after posting bond.

I reached out to the Atlanta Police Department and the Douglasville Police Department to request additional information about the dog.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department said in an email: “The Atlanta Police Department is aware of the recent arrest of Officer Zabria Bridges. As with any case involving a member of our department, this matter is being taken very seriously.

In accordance with department policy, Officer Bridges has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation. The Atlanta Police Department holds its personnel to the highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty.”

At the time of writing, I have not received a response from the Douglasville Police Department, which is the investigating agency in this case.
