Young puppy found frozen to death locked in a wire crate

- Texas, USA -

The Grapeland Police Department wrote in a Facebook post that on February 14, officers responded to a residence about an animal cruelty report.

Police did not reveal the address of the property.

On the scene officers discovered one puppy who had frozen to death.

The lifeless body was found locked in a wire crate in the backyard of the residence.

Police said the furbaby was approximately 12 weeks old.

Officers also located four living adult dogs, and four horses.

The four dogs were found “chained outside, coated in ice, and without adequate shelter”, said Grapeland PD.

Two of the four horses were also found chained by leads approximately 4 foot in length, while the other two were being kept in a small pen.

All dogs and horses were removed from the hellish and abusive residence and the dogs were taken to a local veterinary clinic for treatment.

Police said: “Out of all nine animals located on the property not a single one had food or water.”

Although animal cruelty charges have been filed against the guardian, police have not revealed the identity of this lowlife who effectively killed a puppy!

I am very disappointed Grapeland Police Department!

When someone hurts or kills an animal, their names must be made public, they do not deserve to be protected!

Grapeland PD appealed to the public and said: “This is a reminder that temperatures are and will continue to be below freezing this week. Animals do not need to suffer in the cold.”
