- New York, USA -

On Sunday, February 6, Rome police officers went to a home on 108 Benedict Avenue after a neighbor called 911 reporting that they had spotted two dead dogs inside the property.

Responding officers then alerted the Central New York SPCA and the organization took over the investigation.

According to the CNY SPCA, the two furbabies appeared to have been dead for some time and no other animals were found in the home.

The residents, identified as 28-years-old WAYNE E. MILLER and 29-years-old ELAINE M. MILLER, were taken into custody on charges of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

Investigator William Pulaski said the VOICELESS VICTIMS were sent for necropsies and the CNY SPCA may press further charges pending those results.

The MILLERS were released on appearance tickets for Rome City Court on February 24, 2022.
