The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) is asking for help after a female dog was found inside a trash can near the intersection of Seven Mile and Southfields roads.
The poor pup was found Monday, March 9.
Anna Chrisman, a spokeswoman for the Humane Society, said a resident called them.
The furbaby was found malnourished, underweight and appears to have recently given birth. Sadly, the MHS were unable to find her puppies.
The organization believe that whoever dumped the pup could have traveled into the city to abandon her.
Click on Detroit reports that: “Investigators said the signs of abuse are obvious and the dog had marks on her neck, showing she had spent a lot of time chained up. Officials believe she may have been used to breed puppies and then left behind.”
If anyone recognizes this mother dog or has information related to this case, please call the Michigan Humane Society at (313) - 872 - 3401. Thank you!
