STEVEN M. EVANS arrested in connection with dog being shot in the face

- Georgia, USA -

Walker County Sheriff’s detectives have now arrested the subhuman who shot a defenseless dog in the face on Gate Street in Rossville.

Kimberly Taylor told Channel 3 that at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, she was getting ready to put her dog in his crate for the night when she noticed he got off of his chain.

Ms. Taylor then heard a gunshot and a few moments later she saw her furbaby, a 1-year-old Lab Pitbull mix named Rufus, coming up the driveway with blood dripping down his face.

Ms. Taylor did not see what happened and told Channel 3: “I'm not sure what happened. I know he's not aggressive. He doesn't even growl at anybody. He's a very loving dog. So, I'm not sure why he got shot. And that's what we're trying to figure out is why he got shot.”

The bullet entered just below Rufus' eye and appeared to exit out of the back of his jaw.

Rufus is now being treated and is recovering in an animal hospital in Ringgold.

In connection with the shooting the sheriff’s office arrested 30-year-old STEVEN M. EVANS, of 155 Spring Street in Rossville, and charged him with aggravated cruelty to animals.

The shooter was booked into the Walker County Jail awaiting a Magistrate hearing.
