Syracuse Police announced on Wednesday, March 17, that 53-year-old SHENANDOAH GILBERT was arrested in connection with the SENSELESS and CRUEL death of an innocent dog.
On January 31, police received a report about a deceased dog at GILBERT’s residence.
The furbaby was taken to the Cornell Veterinary Animal Health Diagnostic Center for a necropsy.
Results revealed that the poor dog had died from hypothermia.
It also emerged that the furbaby was already suffering from starvation and heartworms.
The murderer was charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
CNY Central reports that GILBERT was issued an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.
As reported by Local SYR.com, police want to remind everyone that furparents are required to provide adequate food, water, and shelter to animals.
