SHANE T. WESTCOTT arrested for abandoning a helpless kitten who was later euthanized

On May 21, 2024, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office took to social media an appeal for assistance in locating an individual involved in an animal cruelty case.

The sheriff’s office said that on May 18, 2024, deputies responded to the Bonny Eagle High School parking lot on Saco Road after receiving a report of an abandoned cat.

Deputies learned from the reporting party that they found a 6-month-old female kitten “inside a plastic tote with the cover on.”

“The kitten was alive but was cold and terrified”, said the sheriff’s office. She was taken to a local veterinary where she was sadly euthanized “due to other issues directly linked to her lack of care”, according to the sheriff’s office.

In an update on the case, the sheriff’s office advised that with the public’s assistance, deputies were able to identify and locate the male responsible for abandoning the helpless kitten.

Deputies arrested 37-year-old SHANE T. WESTCOTT (pictured), and charged him with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

This filth is scheduled to appear at Bridgton District Court on July 16, 2024.

I have emailed the sheriff’s office to inquire about the other “issues” that the Voiceless Victim was suffering from. If I get a response, I will post an update.

I took the liberty of naming the furvictim Candytuft. Should her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.
