SCOTT ELLIS arrested after police found and removed multiple animals from a Pawtucket apartment

On April 15, 2022, detectives with the Pawtucket Police Department assisted the Rhode Island SPCA with an animal cruelty investigation at Apartment 5 on 86 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket.
After a search warrant was executed at the apartment, officers discovered and removed multiple rats and mice, seven rabbits, one parrot, and one lizard.
Pawtucket police said in a news release that an affidavit and arrest warrant was court-authorized for the arrest of 21-years-old SCOTT ELLIS (pictured).
ELLIS was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 24, on three counts of unnecessary cruelty to animals and nine counts of overwork, mistreatment, or failure to feed animals, all Misdemeanors.
He was held overnight and according to online court records, ELLIS appeared in Providence District Court for his arraignment on May 25, 2022.
ELLIS’ pre-arraignment conference is slated to take place on September 2, 2022.
Police have not revealed additional information at this time.
