On April 20, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-years-old SAMUEL SCOTT KING (pictured) on a felony animal cruelty charge.
On April 7, a contractor hired to clean out a foreclosed home on W. Silverado Court, Kenly, discovered the decomposed remains of a large dog.
The furbaby was inside a locked kennel that did not have any water and the food was molded.
According to authorities, KING moved out from the home and left the dog behind.
When I asked the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office what the dog’s breed, gender and age was, I was told that it “Could not be determined due to decomposition.”
I was also told that the furbaby was KING’s dog and when I asked what his/her name was, the response was: “Possibly Leo? I can not confirm that name though.”
KING, of the 500 block of Boyette Road, Four Oaks, was released on a $2,500 secured bond pending a court appearance.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office tells me that KING “has not been to trial” as dates are set by the District Attorney's Office.
I checked his court records and they show that KING is slated to be in court on May 26, 2022.

I want to thank you for asking all the pertinent questions concerning the horrible death of this Precious Soul. You offer dignity in death to all these voiceless victims. This huge slob stuffed his face whilst making sure that “Leo” remained locked inside a kennel without water & only moldy food. Once again I am imagining what his Hell will be & praying he gets his just punishment on earth also. RIP PRECIOUS SOUL
