“IF YOU ARE SICK ENOUGH TO ABUSE A PET LIKE THIS, THEN THERE IS ONLY ONE PLACE YOU BELONG...THE BREVARD COUNTY JAIL!!.”
That is how the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office commented on a graphic video posted on its Facebook page.
The gut-wrenching video shows 31-years-old SABRINA LYNN WOOD (pictured below) unmercifully and repeatedly slamming a defenseless cat onto a concrete floor.
The furbaby inevitably died while he/she was being struck but that did not stop WOOD.
In fact, WOOD kept slamming the lifeless victim by his/her tiny neck.
“Her actions were so outrageous that a family member provided our agency with the video that was obtained by a security camera installed at the location to prevent theft”, explained sheriff Ivey.
He then added: “And to make matters worse when confronted about her actions by a family member, WOODS stated that she’d become angry after the cat urinated on her blanket and was teaching the cat a lesson.”
Before thanking the family member who provided the agency with the tape, Sheriff Ivey said: “If you’re the type of person who can do something like this to a harmless pet, then, you are the type of person who can harm a human being with little or no remorse. And if you’re that kind of person, then, you deserve to go to jail and have the door slammed in your face by the sheriff.”
Sheriff Ivey walked WOOD to jail on Friday, October 15, on one felony count of aggravated animal cruelty. Bond was set at $35,000 bond.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office’s online logs, WOOD is still in custody and is slated to appear before Judge Judy Atkin on the morning of Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
