REWARD offered in the case of three innocent dogs shot in Orangeburg County in the last month

- South Carolina, USA -

Since January 2022, the Orangeburg County Animal Control & Shelter has rescued three dogs who were seriously injured by gunshots in three separate incidents.

A news release issued by Charleston Animal Society provides details on the rescues:

1. The first victim is a dog named Sampson who was found on January 25, 2022, on the side of the road. Sampson had been shot in the face at point-blank range. After being treated at Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty (CVETS), Sampson has made an “incredible recovery” although his left eye had to be removed due to the damage sustained by the bullet and the remaining fragments. The furbaby “was hospitalized at CVETS for 9 days where he received 24/7 care from highly trained ICU nurses, veterinarians, and surgery nurses.” The State reports that “Sampson is now safe at Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary in Upper Uwchlan Township, Pennsylvania.”

2. The second victim is a 10-month-old Boxer mix puppy named Marshall. Described as being sweet and friendly, Marshall was shot on a neighbor’s porch on the night of Saturday, February 5, 2022. The furbaby required a five-hour rear limb amputation at CVETS and received blood during complications arising during surgery. Marshall is currently recovering well in a foster home. According to The State: “Marshall will be sent to Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue in Stahlstown, Pennsylvania, for permanent placement.”

3. The latest incident involves a dog who was found on February 18, injured lying in a ditch. The furbaby, Fred, a 3-year-old male Boxer mix had been lying in the ditch for several days and then picked up by Animal Control. Fred was taken to Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty and remains hospitalized pending bilateral rear limb amputation for Monday, February 21. If all goes well, Fred, like Marshall, will be sent to Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue in Stahlstown, Pennsylvania, for permanent placement.

Charleston Animal Society is now offering a $15,000 reward ($5,000 for each case) for information leading to a criminal conviction.

Charleston Animal Society President and CEO Joe Elmore, CAWA, CFRE said: “Through our No Kill South Carolina 2024 initiative, we remain committed to fighting cruelty wherever it exists. We are angry and we want those responsible for shooting these dogs caught and prosecuted and we fully support law enforcement efforts to bring the guilty parties to justice.”

Goddamned MF-er who shot them. Karma is coming for him. Is it me, or is this animal cruelty increasing these days?

Bless all three of you precious souls. The coward(s) who shot you must be found & prosecuted, then remember said coward(s), a special dark hot corner in Hell awaits you, where unspeakable horrors will be bestowed upon your soulless entity for eternity. Please get better Fred, Marshall, & Sampson.
