In a Facebook post of April 12, 2022, the Humane Rescue Alliance advised that “The reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect has been increased to $30,000. For any information leading to the safe recovery of the dog into HRA's custody, we will give a $15,000 reward. The other half of the reward will be offered to the person who can provide information leading to the suspect.”
Chris Schindler, vice president of field services at the Humane Rescue Alliance, said: “Our Humane Law Enforcement team has been working around the clock to investigate every lead in this case. But we still need the public’s help to solve it. We're hopeful the increased reward will motivate anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible.”

“We won’t rest until the suspect is apprehended and the dog is safely in our care” vowed the Humane Rescue Alliance after a horrific video was captured on several Ring doorbell cameras.
Cameras caught an individual “forcibly slamming a dog on the sidewalk before kicking and dragging the animal,” said the Humane Rescue Alliance.
The organization said in a press release that they are investigating the incident which was recorded at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28, in Southeast D.C. near Pomeroy Road and Sheridan Road.
Humane Law Enforcement officers at HRA are now reaching out to the public in hopes of identifying the suspect, as well as in obtaining additional surveillance footage.
HRA requests anyone with doorbell or surveillance cameras to review their footage from 6 – 8 a.m. on Monday, March 28, for potential sightings of the suspect, particularly from the following streets in the Southeast D.C. neighborhood:
Pomeroy Road
Sheridan Road
Elvans Road
Morris Road
Stanton Road
Maple View Pl.
Mount View Pl.
Martin Luther King Jr. PI.
There is a $22,500 reward offered for information leading to the criminal conviction of the individual seen in the video.
International bestselling author Don Winslow has offered a $20,000 reward in addition to HRA's reward of $2,500.
