Puppy thrown off Alcoa Highway overpass found by Knoxville Police Department officers

Early on Monday morning, January 13, authorities found a puppy who had been thrown off an overpass.

It happened around 3:00 a.m. at Alcoa Highway overpass near Tyson Park.


The department wrote in their Facebook post: ” Thankfully, KPD officers were already in the area, located the injured animal and rendered aid. Officers quickly transported her to the UT Veterinarian Medical Facility, where the staff determined that she did not appear to have life-threatening injuries. She is expected to be transferred to Young-Williams Animal Center following treatment.”
