A female dog who was stabbed multiple times and left to die is now recovering in the care of the Loxahatchee-based nonprofit Big Dog Ranch Rescue.
On Tuesday, January 7, the shelter received a call from a shelter in Miami saying they needed their help.
They described a pregnant dog stabbed in her stomach, face, leg, and neck who was left lying on the side of the road.
The pup now named Beauty, has delivered her beautiful puppies.
Four boys and four girls.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue wrote in their Facebook post: “Beauty's puppies will be ready for adoption in 8 weeks, and Beauty herself will be ready for a loving home in about 12 weeks.”
All the babies are doing well. Staff members are feeding them from bottles while mama Beauty remains with their medical staff. “She appears to have some sort of infection due to the cuts she had,” wrote the shelter.
According to their latest update, “Ms. Beauty girl is doing better and gaining more strength everyday! She has been eating treats and her food, and seems to be in great spirits!”
