~ Original story:

The Monmouth County SPCA’s Law Enforcement Division is reaching out to the public for help with two cases of animal cruelty which are currently being investigated.

The Monmouth County SPCA said that the first case involves a litter of nine newborn puppies.

The organization received a call about a box containing the puppies that had been discarded in piles of trash at Collingwood Auction in Farmingdale.

Thankfully a Good Samaritan spotted the box and alerted Animal Control Division.

The furbabies were examined and it was determined they were approximately 24-hours old, “some still with their umbilical cord attached”, said the MCSPCA.

The puppies were dehydrated and lethargic. They were immediately provided with heat and tube feedings every few hours.

Sadly, one puppy has passed away.

The Monmouth County SPCA said that the same day, they received a call from the Asbury Park Police about an abused and barely responsive puppy.

The MCSPCA explained that the 10-week-old Pitbull puppy “had visible and internal injuries, including multiple skull fractures causing excessive head and face swelling, along with lacerations on his face, neck, and ears.” The precious soul has been named Laddy.

Laddy is being monitored around the clock for bleeding and/or swelling and is receiving pain management to keep him comfortable.

As the organization said, details on this case are still unfolding and will be released as they become available.

Meanwhile, these two heinous cases are being investigated and those who have information are asked to come forward.

Please, do the right thing and speak up for the VOICELESS VICTMIS.

You can contact the Monmouth County Cruelty Hotline by calling 877-898-7297 or the Monmouth County Prosecutors Tip Line at 800-671-4400.

All calls can remain anonymous. Thank you!

If you wish and can afford to donate toward the medical care of the furbabies in the care of the MCSPCA, you can either visit their Facebook page or their website. Thank you!
