LAMYAH JADE RUMPH arrested for beating her young puppy and then pouring pickle juice and hot sauce over her

The Clearwater Police Department arrested 19-year-old LAMYAH JADE RUMPH (pictured) in connection with a violent and despicable act involving her five-month-old Pitbull mix puppy named Nova.

The incident occurred at RUMPH’s apartment on 2007 Alpine Road on the early morning of Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Authorities said the situation escalated after Nova defecated inside RUMPH’s bedroom causing her to become enraged.

According to investigators, RUMPH lifted Nova by her neck and struck her with her fist while the furvictim was suspended in the air. As if that was not savage enough, RUMPH then proceeded to forcefully throw Nova into a metal cage. Due to the impact, the cage metal door broke!

Then, while poor Nova was in the cage, RUMPH poured a large amount of pickle juice and hot sauce onto her.

The affidavit stated that when law enforcement arrived, they found Nova “inside the cage, trembling, shaking, upset, and visibly distraught.” Officers reported that Nova was unable to walk properly or bear weight on her left hind leg.

Officers also noticed that the area surrounding the crate was scattered with feces.

Pinellas County Animal Control took custody of Nova and launched a cruelty investigation. Nova will be examined by a veterinary to determine the full extent of her injuries.

RUMPH admitted to her actions and was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and booked on one count of animal cruelty.

At the time of writing, online records show that RUMPH was released after posting bond.

The case remains under investigation.
