KATRINA JEAN DRAZINA and OWEN LEONARD STIFFLER left animals behind after they were evicted

- Pennsylvania, USA -

On April 15, Johnstown Police were called to a property in the 400 block of Linden Avenue regarding animals who were found abandoned inside.

Inside the home police and an animal control officer with the Humane Society found a white and gray short-haired cat, a black and white Dalmatian dog, and a black and white Pitbull mix.

All three furbabies were in bad condition and according to the witness, they had been left alone for over a week after the latest tenants had been evicted.

Officers reported that there was no sign of food and water and the upstairs floor was covered with animal feces. Inside the residence there was also a dog kennel that had the door broken off and blood against the wall.

The VOICELESS VICTIMS were taken to the Somerset Vet ER and police were told that the injuries appeared to be from the dogs potentially fighting over the lack of food and being left alone for an extended period of time.

· The cat was skinny and bony.

· The Dalmatian had lesions on his/her nose and back and both ears were infected.

The furbaby was started on antibiotics, had tubes into his/her neck, and had to undergo surgery.

He/She also needed sutures and staples and needed deworming.

· The Pitbull mix had a broken right front paw that was not treated at the time of the incident. The vet explained to police that as a result of the injury the furbaby was permanently disfigured.

The dog also had abrasions on his/her face, was put on antibiotics and needed deworming.

Authorities identified 25-years-old KATRINA JEAN DRAZINA and 32-years-old OWEN LEONARD STIFFLER (both pictured) as the latest tenants who left the furbabies behind following their eviction.

The duo were arrested on Thursday, April 21, and charged with neglect of animals and three counts each of cruelty to animals and aggravated cruelty to animals.

They were arraigned by on-call District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi and sent to Cambria County Prison, in Ebensburg, after each failed to post 10% of $20,000 bond.

Online court records show that both DRAZINA and STIFFLER are scheduled to be in court for their arraignment hearing on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Kevin J. Price.
