- Long Island, New York, USA -
An investigation made possible the arrest of 37-year-old JUSTIN J. VISCONTI (pictured below), on Tuesday, November 26.
He is facing four counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
Nassau County Police say that several injured and tied-up cats were found outside the trash chute of VISCONTI’s apartment building at the Porter Regency on 100 Lincoln Avenue in Mineola over a few weeks.
ABC7 reports that a resident and building employees made the recent shocking discovery and that this was not the first time.
On previous occasions when other cats had been found they were just disposed of and the authorities were not alerted.
Investigators said the kittens and cats died from blunt force trauma.
Jed Painter with the Nassau DA Animal Crimes Unit said: "These cats were badly mutilated, these cats were tortured by some means." "We had multiple broken bones. In fact, one of the animals, pretty much every single bone in the body was broken."
It’s unclear where all these innocent souls came from.
Please be extra vigilant with your furbabies.
If you live near this criminal’s building and your cat is missing, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or Call the Nassau County SPCA Hotline number, at 516-THE-SPCA.
JUSTIN J. VISCONTI is expected back in court December 2.
