An investigation by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office into an egregious animal cruelty case has resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old JULIANA ALYSSA BROWN (pictured) of Trinity.
According to an affidavit, on October 11, 2026, the sheriff's office received information from a mandatory clinical reporter that BROWN “admitted to holding a cat hostage for several days before she killed it while her family was on vacation.”
Deputies subsequently contacted BROWN at her residence on 1637 Amaryllıs Court, Trinity, and conducted a non-custodial interview. During the interview, BROWN recounted the events and described the gruesome details of the incident.
Deputies learned that in May 2024, while BROWN's family was away on vacation, BROWN trapped a neighborhood cat inside her residence and admitted to trying to kill the feline in various ways over the course of several days.
BROWN reportedly told deputies that she attempted to kill the cat by placing the furvictim inside a white trash bag and trying to drown him/her. She then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the cat “several times causing unnecessary suffering and pain,” the affidavit states.
The affidavit further details that BROWN told deputies the cat was screaming in pain, which caused her to become "sexually aroused." BROWN reportedly admitted that the cat did not die from the stab wounds and that she subsequently attempted to crush him/her between her legs. That attempt was also unsuccessful.
Ultimately, BROWN drowned the furvictim in her bathroom.
BROWN reportedly stated that these incidents took place over the course of several days.
Following the cat's death, BROWN placed the body inside a refrigerator to conceal him/her from family members.
The affidavit describes further disturbing admissions. BROWN reportedly told deputies that she skinned the cat, removed and dissected his/her organs, “placed them in a blender, and drank them.”
BROWN also admitted to later decapitating the cat and removing the face from the head. She reportedly preserved the face in alcohol and kept it for several months.
During the investigation, BROWN showed deputies a photograph dated May 5, 2024, depicting the cat skinned from the head down, with his/her organs removed. She also provided a photograph showing the cat alive inside the residence on May 3, 2024, the affidavit states.
Additionally, BROWN produced a kitchen knife she identified as the weapon used to stab the cat. She reportedly explained that she recognized the knife because of damage caused by "hitting the bones" of the furvictim.
According to the affidavit, BROWN also told deputies that she often fantasizes about killing animals and had done so since she was three years old.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies determined that probable cause existed to arrest BROWN for aggravated cruelty to animals.
Following her arrest, BROWN consented to a further interview after being advised of her Miranda rights. During that interview, she reportedly reiterated her admissions and stated that she had no emotions about the incident or her arrest.
BROWN was arrested on October 14, 2026. At the time of writing, online records indicate that she remains in custody without bond.
The affidavit also reveals that the investigating deputy requested a high bond because of concerns about public safety. Citing the potential relationship between animal cruelty and subsequent violence against people, the deputy wrote that animal cruelty is often a precursor to mass attacks or targeted violence.
According to court records, BROWN is scheduled to appear in Pasco County Circuit Court on October 19, 2026.
