The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 26-years-old JORDAN LEE HOISINGTON (pictured).
In a brief news release the sheriff’s office said that in December 2021, a report came in about two deceased dogs discovered behind a padlocked door in a Bancroft home and Animal Control Deputy Kirt Stechschulte responded to the scene.
The gruesome discovery was made by the new renters. One of them was identified by ABC 12 as Cheyenne Wiley, who is also an extended family member of HOISINGTON.
Ms. Wiley told ABC 12 that she and her roommate had moved into the home in September 2021, and the place was already in some disarray. According to Ms. Wiley there was dust, an odd odor and dead mice in parts of the home.
“There was mud and dirt everywhere. There weren't any paw prints or anything”, said Ms. Wiley.
She explained that since the condition of the home upstairs was not livable, she and her roommate only occupied the downstairs section of the residence.
Upstairs, leading to the master bathroom, was a padlocked door and Ms. Wiley wanted to get inside to clean up.
HOISINGTON told her not to. She said she was using it for storage and added she needed to clean it out for them.
When Ms. Wiley began painting the upstairs hallway, she noticed the odor was worse.
Eventually, her roommate used a bolt cutter to open the door.
Ms. Wiley told ABC 12: “I got messages from my roommate, freaking out about fur being everywhere, he did not go all the way into the bathroom the first time, they just saw what was there, shut the door. It actually took another day before any of us got the courage to go up and see what was actually in there.”
Ms. Wiley and her roommate said the two dead dogs were in an advanced state of decomposition.
The sheriff’s office said that one of the dogs looked to have been partially eaten by the other one.
“It is believed that the dogs had likely passed away sometime in the Summer before the complainants moved in”, stated the release.
When Ms. Wiley and her roommate talked to HOISINGTON, she begged them not to call the police.
Thankfully, Ms. Wiley did the right thing, went to the police station, and showed officers all the videos of her and her roommate entering the bathroom for the first time.
HOISINGTON has been arrested and charged with two Felony counts of animals- killing/torturing.
She was arraigned on March 1, 2022, and her bond was set at $7,500.
MLive reports that HOISINGTON was also scheduled to appear in court on March 23, for a probable cause conference before District Court Judge Ward Clarkson.
Online records show HOISINGTON is slated to appear back in court on April 5, 2022, for a preliminary hearing.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how humans can be so cruel to innocent voiceless souls! There is something seriously broken in these monsters that needs to be investigated. Thanks to the renter who contacted police. RIP PRECIOUS SOULS.
