Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced that 45-years-old JODI LYNN WOZNIAK (pictured below), is facing animal cruelty, theft, and other charges in Absecon, Galloway Township and Linwood following a cooperative investigation by four Atlantic County law enforcement agencies.

With regards to animal cruelty, WOZNIAK is facing:

· Galloway Township Police Department: Five counts of 4th Degree cruelty to animals

· Linwood Police: two counts of cruelty to animals

According to a news release by Prosecutor Shill, ACPO Investigator Denise Manino received a call from Galloway Twp. Officer David LaSassa on September 16, about five adult dogs who appeared to be abandoned in the woods in the area of North Pitney Road in Galloway.

Officer LaSassa specified that the dogs appeared to be German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois breed and that some of them were tethered to a tree, while others were inside kennels with no food or water. The poor furbabies had been left alone for at least 15 hours.

All five dogs, who turned out to be WOZNIAK’s, were taken to Atlantic County Animal Shelter, put on a protective hold and at the time WOZNIAK refused to surrender them.

Five days later, Investigator Manino received another call from Officer LaSassa and learned that WOZNIAK was in custody for trespassing back on the property she was ordered not to return to, following a judicial eviction order that was signed on September 13, 2021.

On September 21, Investigator Manino received another call about WOZNIAK, but this time it was from Sgt. Charles Champion with the Linwood Police Department.

Sgt. Champion informed Investigator Manino that WOZNIAK had brought to Linwood Animal Hospital five German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois puppies, all suffering from Parvo.

Sadly, three of them were euthanized. One puppy was returned to WOZNIAK, and another one was still at Linwood Animal Hospital receiving treatment (pictured below).

WOZNIAK had used a stolen credit card to pay for some of the services rendered to the puppies.

Sgt. Champion further informed Investigator Manino that WOZNIAK was also being investigated by the Absecon Police Department and the officer working on her case was Officer April Kolakowski.

Officer Kolakowski learned that on August 28, WOZNIAK took a puppy to the Absecon Animal Hospital to be treated for an obstruction in his/her digestive track.

After WOZNIAK was told how much the treatment would have cost, she did not return to the hospital and abandoned the puppy.

WOZNIAK was first processed by Galloway Police on September 21.

Then, Linwood Police traveled to Galloway Township to pick her up and transported her to Linwood and she was processed there too.

Ultimately, WOZNIAK will be transported to Absecon Police to be processed there also.

Atlantic County Assistant Prosecutor Lynn Heyer represents the state in this matter.
