The age of Emma and Danny (also pictured below) is unknown.

~ Original story:

Thanks to a kindhearted citizen who flagged down two deputies with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, one cat and two dogs are now safe!

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey recounted in a video posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page that the witness saw a woman walking away from a van leaving two dogs inside with the window slightly opened. The witness at that point had not noticed the cat inside the vehicle.

The woman was later identified as 36-years-old JESSICA LYNN GREER, of Kentucky (pictured).

When the deputies approached the vehicle, they saw the two dogs, and also noticed the cat. The furbabies were in apparent state of distress.

One of the two dogs is 16 years old and “was pretty near death” when deputies broke the window out. The window was “barely cracked” said Sheriff Ivey.

There was no water for the poor souls!

Where was Ms. Greer? Ms. Greer gone down to the beach, that’s where she was at”, said Sheriff Ivey. It took two hours for GREER to come back to the vehicle.

When deputies identified her and connected her to the vehicle, they took her into custody.

They asked her: “Did you know that you left your dogs in this type of heat?

Her answer was: “Yes!

Thankfully, the VOICELESS VICTIMS are in the care of veterinarians at the Animal Care Center and as Sheriff Ivey said, at the time of the video, GREER “is about to be in the care of our booking desk.”

GREER was booked on three counts of felony animal cruelty and bond was set at $15,000.

Sheriff Ivey said GREER did not show any remorse for her actions and she’s been nothing but attitude with the deputies; for the whole ride she kept her mouth running.

Even in the video, as she was being escorted out to jail, she showed attitude to Sheriff Ivey who told her: “Oh, I am sorry you’re in a little bit of misery. Your dogs and cat were in a lot of misery, so, I hope you enjoy your little visit at the Brevard County Jail.”

GREER kept confronting Sheriff Ivey who ultimately told her: “You know what? Keep running your mouth. Let the judge hear you!

Online records show that GREER is still in custody and a court date has been set for the morning of Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 8:00 before Judge Judy Atkin.

I have emailed Brevard County Sheriff’s Office PIO Tod Goodyear and requested additional information about the furbabies.

I will post an update if I get a response.
