JAMES CRAWFORD charged after shooting and abandoning dog in woods

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office said that 49-year-old JAMES CRAWFORD shot a dog and then abandoned him in the woods.

WGRZ reports that deputies said the furbaby was discovered on March 3, on Wayman Ranch Road in the Town of Olean.

An investigation led to the arrest of CRAWFORD on March 16.

As reported by The Post-Journal, CRAWFORD, of 1958 Wayman Branch Road in Olean, was charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty.

This evil individual will be in court at a later date.

Thankfully, the furbaby survived the shooting.

Deputies said that with the help of Portville Police, animal control, Haskell Valley Veterinary Clinic, and the Cattaraugus County SPCA, the dog is recovering well.
