~ UPDATE: October 5, 2021

I heard back from Captain Hall with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the email reads: “Unfortunately, at this time I cannot release any further details on this case as it is still an open and pending case.”

~ Original story:

58-years-old JACK WESLEY STEED (pictured below) was arrested for animal cruelty after he turned himself in on Monday, October 4.

STEED, of Whitesboro, had a warrant for his arrest after he was accused of shooting dogs which according to online logs happened on April 14, 2018.

KXII reports that the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office said they received reports about someone shooting dogs in the Chapel Court area of Whitesboro.

Witnesses identified STEED as the shooter.

SPCA investigators took over the case and with the assistance of the sheriff’s office, the case was later filed with the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office in August 2020, and the arrest warrant for STEED was then issued in April 2021.

Online records show STEED was released from Grayson County Jail the same day of his arrest on a $10,000 bond.

I have emailed the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office to inquire about the dogs shot by STEED.

If I get a response, I will post an update.
