Investigation underway after dog found stabbed to death in Nanakuli

- Hawaii, USA -

Honolulu Police Department and CrimeStoppers are reaching out to the public in hopes of finding the person who stabbed an innocent dog to death near Laanui Street in Nanakuli.

On the early morning of Tuesday, October 5, Mr. Victor Kila, discovered that his dog, named Bully, was missing from his yard. Bully was a brown and white Pitbull/Shar-Pei mix and weighed approximately 30 to 40 lbs.

Mr. Kila got Bully when he was a puppy and was almost deaf, reports KHON.

In an interview with reporter Jenn Boneza with KHON, Mr. Kila explained that he went to the back of his property and noticed something was broken, the gate had been tampered with and thought maybe someone had tried to come through.

Past the gate, he saw two people, a humane society officer and a neighbor from across the canal. They asked Mr. Kila: “Uncle, do you own a brown Shar-Pei?” To which he replied: “Yes. I am looking for him.” They then delivered the heartbreaking news.

The neighbor heard Bully crying and tried to save him but it was too late.

Mr. Kila showed the reporter where Bully died, on the Ulehawa Stream bank, and the blood stains.

Bully had “multiple stab wounds on his chest, under his neck, under his two front armpits, he was sliced. And on his back, there were multiple stab wounds all over his heart. You know, even in his scrotum there were stab wounds. I don’t think he deserved that”, said Mr. Kila.

Mr. Kila said that Bully was very friendly, he knew the neighbors and would never approach them aggressively.

He also said that Bully was a member of his family and buried him in his home backyard.

He’s gonna stay with us”, he said while placing a flower over the dirt area Bully was buried in.

He then said: “Bye-bye Bully, see you in heaven.”

Police launched an investigation and are asking anyone who has information about this case to call CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300. The public may also send anonymous web tips or via the P3 Tips app.

Please, I beg you, come forward and speak up for the VOICELESS VICTIM. Thank you!

As reported by KHON, cruelty to animals in the first-degree is a felony with a five to 10 year jail term if convicted. In addition, the person may not own an animal for up to five years from the date of conviction.
