Investigation underway after a Chihuahua was found abandoned tied up in three bags near train tracks

Speaking of being in the right place at the right time…
A young tiny Chihuahua is alive thanks to the man who found her after she was callously abandoned.
The South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter said in a brief news release that on the late morning of Saturday, February 19, the man who was walking his dog behind Gerresheimer’s Glass (along the railroad tracks at 537 Christel Avenue in Vineland) “noticed a bag on the ground when his dog was reacting to it.”
The shelter said that the man saw the bag move and heard something inside so he immediately picked up the bag and brought it to the shelter.
Staff untied a cloth shopping bag in which there was a tied plastic bag which had been placed inside a duffle bag. Inside the duffle bag, staff found the Chihuahua.
The furbaby and the bags she was in were soaked with urine.
Jessica Morrison, director of operations of the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, told Action News: “When she came out of the bag, she was clearly gasping for air and had been without oxygen for enough time to take a toll on her.”
The VOICELESS VICTIM, about 1 year old, has been named Coco.
Coco was examined and she thankfully had no other signs of abuse other than being visibly shaken, said the shelter. Coco is now recovering at a foster home.
The shelter said what was done to Coco is clearly intentional and rightfully called the incident “a blatant act of animal cruelty.”
The Vineland Police Department is investigating the heinous crime and the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to a criminal conviction.

Bless the man & his dog who found Coco! Seeing her beautiful but frightened face proves that miracles do happen. I pray the monster(s) who did this horridly cruel act will be found, charged, prosecuted to the full extent, jailed for their cruelty only to realize that Hell is waiting. Coco, you Precious Soul, please get better so you can enjoy love in your wee life.
Oh, please. She's so adorable. I just can't wrap my mind around why and how someone can do this!! What an amazing miracle this man happened to walk by and discover her right at that moment! Please DO NOT give her back to someone who recognizes her. That may be like sending her right back to the hell she just miraculously escaped! I hope Coco finds a wonderful, loving home and whoever did this gets paid back the way they deserve by Karma. Karma is an unforgiving bitch!
