HEIDI LUEDERS walks free after she starved five innocent dogs to death!

- Connecticut, USA -

On Wednesday, February 9, following a four-day trial, Superior Court Judge Peter McShane found 34-years-old HEIDI LUEDERS (pictured below), NOT GUILTY on Felony animal cruelty charges.

McShane ruled the state did not prove LUEDERS “intentionally and maliciously” killed the dogs as he said is required by law, reports CT Post.

LUEDERS was found guilty of the charge of Criminal Damage to Property.

LUEDERS requested a trial by a judge rather than a jury.

LUEDERS walks free despite five dogs being found dead inside the home she was renting on 37 Prince Street in Fairfield, on November 14, 2018.

Patch reports: “In a case that Judge Peter McShane calledemotional and jarring,’ reasonable doubt resulted in Lueders being acquitted of 10 animal cruelty counts, including five felony counts of maliciously killing an animal.”

The furbabies whom LUEDERS starved to death, Achilles, Brooklyn, Buddha, Gunner, and Meeko were later nicknamed “The Fairfield Five”.

THE VOICELESS VICTIMS were found inside cages. All that was left of them were skeletons and collars.

An arrest warrant charged LUEDERS, ex-president of New Canaan based Bully Breed Rescue, Inc., with five counts of animal cruelty and one count of criminal damage to her landlord’s property. Her bond was set at $50,000.

Bully Breed Rescue, Inc.’s vice president Chris Antolini, at the time confirmed in a statement on the organization’s website that the dogs had been obtained through their program. Reportedly, LUEDERS lied to the group saying that four of the five dogs were sent to live at a sanctuary, while the fifth dog was sent to a foster family and she was monitoring the situation.

LUEDERS turned herself into Fairfield police on January 15, 2019.

On February 13, 2019, at Bridgeport superior court, animal cruelty charges were upgraded to felonies.

So, to sum up, HEIDI LUEDERS is not guilty of starving five dogs to death, but she is guilty of leaving the home damaged.

Judge McShane said: “Not all cases end with all questions answered. The law does not require absolute certainty.”

LUEDERS will be back in court on April 6, 2022, for sentencing for the property damage conviction, a felony for which she could face up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Ms. Marissa Alter, reporter for News 12, said that an animal advocated yelled at LUEDERS as she was getting into her car: “Heidi, we will not let this go!
