GARTH FRANKLIN GOENS and GAVIN GARRETT GOENS arrested in relation to the death of more than 20 cats

- Indiana, USA -

Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer announced the arrest of 28-years-old GARTH FRANKLIN GOENS and 28-years-old GAVIN GARRETT GOENS (both pictured below) in connection with an animal cruelty case involving the death of more than twenty (20) cats.

In a news release Sheriff Meyer said that the GOENS brothers, both of South Main Street in Vallonia, were arrested on Thursday, January 13, and face charges of animal cruelty, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

It all started on January 9, when a neighbor said she had recorded an altercation between the two brothers and another man. During the argument, the brothers yelled at the woman: “Hey, your cats are dead!”

When an officer went to the GOENS’ residence, the brothers initially said the cats they had killed were feral and added that the cats came onto their properties and were caught in a trap.

Sheriff Meyer said that the police report “noted there were numerous wire traps of varying sizes containing some sort of bait. During the conversation the two admitted that cats matching the description of the neighbor’s had been a nuisance and were caught in the traps.”

Authorities said the GOENS have killed the VOICELESS VICTIMS by shooting them in their small heads with a 9mm handgun and then burying them on their property.

Sheriff Meyer said: “We take reports of animal cruelty very seriously. The facts of this case are very disturbing. Nobody has the right to kill or harm a neighbor’s pets.”

Online records show that the two filthy murderers are no longer in custody.

They were released from the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown on Monday, January 17, after posting bond.

That’s how seriously animal cruelty is taken!

The Tribune reports that a Level 6 felony is punishable by six months to two and a half years in jail if convicted.

Again, that’s how seriously animal cruelty is taken!
