Family pops pizza in oven for dinner but smoke in their kitchen says they cooked something else

- Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA -

On Monday, December 30, Ms. Amber Helm went to preheat her oven to make dinner and her husband Robert popped in a frozen pizza.

A while later they noticed smoke in the kitchen so Amber told her young children to back up.

She told WRAL: “I looked closely and was like ‘Oh my God! That’s a friggin’ snake.”

The Helms do not have the habit of storing food in the oven so naturally they did not check it before turning it on.

Amber told CNN: “The oven was dark and the snake was likely dead by then from the preheat.”

According to Amber, the snake got in via the holes at the bottom that allow for airflow.

She said: “We aren’t certain yet how it got into the house but assume through our crawl space.”

She took her small children to Applebee’s while her husband stayed home and got rid of the poor snake.

Reportedly, the family moved into their home in January 2019 and said the neighbors across the street own a horse farm and told them they never had any issues like this before.
