Dog who went missing from her home backyard shows up at her mom’s workplace after three weeks

A dog who went missing from the backyard of her family home in Dothan, showed up three weeks later at her mom’s workplace.

The furbaby, a 4-year-old black and white Lab Pitbull-mix named Abby, showed up at a Walmart store in Dothan on November 28.

Abby immediately caught the attention of Ms. Danielle Robinette, a customer service associate of the store.

She started following the security guard who was following Abby.

This little chase caused an inevitable stir in the store.

Ms. Robinette noticed Abby was looking around at people’s faces as if she was looking for someone.

Abby was not wearing a collar, a leash, or a service dog vest.

Abby’s mom, June Rountree is a cashier at that store and it just so happened that she was there working on the same very day!

While she was manning a checkout line on register No. 6, she noticed the commotion and turned around to see what was happening.

And there was Abby!

Mrs. Roundtree hugged Abby in tears while shoppers and her co-workers watched amazed without understanding what was going on.

Mrs. Roundtree hadn’t told anyone that Abby went missing which I find weird.

She then explained that Abby was her dog and said that after she went missing, with her husband they looked for Abby in their neighborhood and checked with the Dothan Animal Shelter without luck.

Mrs. Roundtree told the Dothan Eagle: “I was just in shock. I looked down at her and I couldn’t believe it, just could not believe it was her. I felt like I was in a dream. I started in tears and I couldn’t talk with anybody.

Mrs. Roundtree took Abby back home while on her lunch break.

Reportedly, after being happily reunited with her fursibling Coco, a 6-month-old Chiweenie, Abby went straight to sleep in her bed.

It’s a mystery how Abby was able to find her mom at 1.7 miles from their home in the Cloverdale neighborhood across Ross Clark Circle and U.S. Highway 231, two heavily traveled roads.

Ms. Robinette could not believe what was unfolding right in front of her eyes and the following day she shared this amazing reunion on her Facebook account.
