Dog shot by neighbor in the head could not be saved

- Danville, Vermont, USA -

Jess Buxton left her five dogs outside her home to use the bathroom on Sunday, November 3, just like any other day.

When she called them back in, only four of them came back.

Her 1-year-old black Lab named Berkeley did not.

When Jess found Berkeley, he was barely alive. He had been shot in the head.

The bullet went into his skull and he had a broken jaw.

The wounded furbaby was rushed to the Littleton Area Veterinary Emergency Service.

Sadly, it was too late to save his life.

Acting on a tip, the Vermont State Police cited Ms. Buxton’s neighbor, 72-year-old FREDERICK KEENAN.

KEENAN was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and he is scheduled to be arraigned in the Caledonia County Superior Court December 16.
