ABC10 News reports that Police Detective Angel Rodriguez said that an anonymous caller informed the police that a dog had been set on fire near Northwest 95th Street and Northwest 25th Avenue.
The call was made to 911 at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29.
The first responding officer used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
Some news outlets report that the poor female dog was already dead when she was set on fire, other news outlets report that the pup died due to the injuries she sustained.
As the case is being investigated many details of the story might not be entirely accurate.
The only certain fact is that an innocent dog was set on fire!
In the afternoon investigators went from door to door questioning residents to see if they had seen someone or something that can help with the investigation.
Police think that the furbaby was run over before being set on fire because near her body there was a large blood stain.
Miami-Dade County Animal Services also responded to the scene.
They removed the dog's remains and will be performing a necropsy to determine the exact cause of her death.
No arrest has been made in this gruesome case.
