Dog rescued from busy interstate after being hit by a car

- Pinellas County, Florida, USA -

Being in the right place at the right time saved a dog’s life.

On Thursday, September 19, Officer Joseph Puglia with the Pinellas Park Police Department was on his way to work when he saw a dog who had been hit by a car while trying to cross I-275 near 38th Ave N.

The Police Department posted on their Facebook page that Officer Puglia immediately swerved over to block the pup from traffic.

He then got an emergency blanket out of the truck, wrapped up the furbaby, and called the station to inform them that he was taking him to Pinellas Animal Hospital.

The beautiful pup, aptly named Lucky, is expected to make a full recovery.

He was not wearing a tag or a collar and does not have a chip so it might be difficult to track down his human parents.

If no one comes forward to claim him, Officer Puglia has a few family members who would like to adopt him.

Many thanks Officer Puglia for saving this precious life.
